Setting up multiple tuners

Post by wcfj78 »

I have an install of the latest version of MythTV on Ubuntu 20.04. I also have a HDHomeRun Prime (3 tuner with cable card capability but no cable card installed, viewing only unencrypted channels). Using Windows Media Center I am able to utilize all three tuners for live TV or recording. I have tried on and off for months to get the same functionality running in MythTV but I've only ever been successful at getting a single tuner working. I've searched through the forums and have not been able to come across a similar situation. Can some one point me to a good instruction on how to set up multiple tuners through a single device? Thanks.

Hi, try this: https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Channel_Sca ... ture_Cards
and take note of the "Now comes the key point." part near the bottom of that section.

That's the only thing I've used and my 3 tuners work OK. You may elect to configure
less than the maximum number of tuners so that something else has access to one or
more of them.
