Can someone who recently installed Mythtv suggest a version ?

Hi,

I installed Xubuntu when 18.04.2 LTS was released, then installed mythtv 0.29 via the PPA and restored my database. When mythtv 30 was released, upgraded via the PPA again. Haven't had any major problems that aren't specific to my hardware/setup.

One gotcha is lirc if you intend to use it. I like to use it as I need to launch scripts via IR remote button presses. I just couldn't figure out how to get the default version that installs on 18.04.2 (I think its lirc 10.2) to run reliably. Found others having the same issue, who recommended downgrading to one of the version 9 releases which has worked flawlessly. This may have change recently as I haven't looked at lirc 10.x for a few months now.

I have previously used Xubuntu with MythTV, but I recently installed MythTV v30 using the ppa on Ubuntu 18.04. I used the minimal install option when installing Ubuntu. All appears well so far.
