Tuning Adapter - Ceton PCIe

Post by Char »

My MythTV server stopped working and I decided to wipe the drive and start over with Mythbuntu 16.04. The server can access 192.168.200.1 as a network adapter and I can access the Ceton card via that IP through its web interface. When I look at the tuning adapter tab, all 3 show disabled and unavailable. If I stop mythtv-backend service and I run ctntad from a terminal, checking the tuning adapter tab (Three) shows available and running. However, if I try to tune in a channel on one of the tuners, it fails to show available programs.

When I built the system, I tried to use ctntad from ceton website, however it failed to make. I decided to utilize a version off github, which installed.

I do not have a ctn0 listed in ifconfig and adding static entry results in an unknown device when restarting the network.

Anyone seen this and know how to resolve? Thanks in advance!

New day, fresh eyes and a new search. I believe I understand the issue, just don't know how to resolve yet. Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. I am able to access the IP address even though it isn't added through mythubuntu networking. I need a way to get mythubuntu to map the IP as a dev so it is properly addressed...

More information. I followed the instructions at this site to get the Ceton card installed. Since ctn0 is not auto loaded in network configuration, I suspect this is the root of the problem.
