Mythtv-Setup do not show my hauppauge tunner

Post by pacogp »

Hi!
I finally have build with macports mythtv.
Now, when i try to setup my tuner, only showme hdhomerun and some iptv solutions, but not my hauppauge device, like in older version on mythtv with ubuntu when i used if long time ago.
Maybe hauppauge its no available in osx with mythtv?
I have tested my tunner with eyetv and works fine!

Pretty much the only Capture Cards that are supported on OS X are the HDHomerun tuners from Silicondust...although some IPTV or HTTP Live Streaming services may also work.

Most PCI video capture cards lack OSX drivers, so the Mac OS X backend does not support the majority of tuners listed as being supported by (the Linux version of) MythTV.
The HDHomeRun network tuner is well known to work using the Mac version of Myth backend. Recording via firewire from set top boxes such as the Motorola 6412 or Motorola DCT 6200 is also known to work. There are no current plans for additional hardware support.
Patches welcome.

I don't know the standards used for television in your country. However, Silicondust makes a number of models that support DVB if that helps. I believe their website automatically tailors their suggestions based on your country of origin. Worth a look.

Perhaps you can sell your Hauppauge device and buy a compatible device?

Craig
I've had Silicondust tuners for about 10 years now. Very happy with them.
