Live TV automatically recording video when starting

Post by marioK59 »

When starting Live TV, the program gets automatically recorded and creates a .ts file in my default storage location. In some instances, Not All, these files automatically get deleted after I stop Live TV. I have not figured out why this is inconsistent. There must be a setting within the MythTV set up that can modify this but I have not been able to find. Not sure which log file has this information but will provide if needed. Thanks in advance.
I have MythTV .28 version.

Check "Live TV max age (days)" in mythfrontned settings (Video->General 2nd page.)
It defaults to one day. Note the comment about needing space. Or, if you press 'r' while
watching, it becomes a "normal" recording.

Thanks for responding. Current setting for Live TV max age is one day. Will modifying this affect the default recording when starting Live TV?

It may be a file size issue, but I don't know where that's defined (in code or settings.)

One day=default and same as mine. Just made a < one minute LiveTV recording and it got
deleted in 7 minutes, while one that recorded for 3 minutes is still there 27 minutes later.

Normally, autoexpire runs every ~15 minutes. But it can adjust itself.

The log is typically located in /var/log/mythtv and named mythbackend.log.
