Ubuntu mythtvfrontend on Windows WSLg

Post by zaphod » Fri Jul 01, 2022 10:27 pm

Has anyone else experimented with Ubuntu 22.04 (Mythtv 0.32) on Windows 11, via WSLg?

It does work. ALSA audio does not work, but PulseAudio does.

My main issue with it - is that all of the themes are semi transparent, and through the glyphs, you see the windows behind. This doesn't happen when watching video content - except when a MythTV dialog box is on top.

I think that I could actually use it like this. But does anyone have any good suggestions for addressing the transparency issue?

I have the generic Debian image running on WSL.

Mythfrontend went through its setup, but now it dies with a segfault.

None of the Error results appear to be contributing to the fatal result.

$ mythfrontend 2>&1 | egrep "Segmentation| E "

xclock and xterm do work.
