schedules direct bumping price

Post by dochawk »

schedules direct is bumping price to $35 at the end of march.

I know it's a non-profit, but to be nearly twice the price of their for-profit competitor seems a bit odd . . .

for that matter, in the US is there any reason to prefer one over the other?

Here is what I do:

I use guide data from SiliconDust for the purpose of watching live TV, with about four hours of guide data every few hours while live TV is being used. The cost for the guide data was included with the initial purchase of my HDHR Prime.

I use guide data from tvmaze.com for the purpose of recording shows. I follow a show on tvmaze.com, and MythTV records it. The cost for the guide data is viewing ads when on tvmaze.com.

I use titantv.com via my calendar for recordings other than shows. The cost is viewing ads while on titantv.com.

Does anyone know if Schedules Direct supports the MythTV project in anyway?

I didn't even know there was an alternative. Is the for profit competitor for USA data only?

Thanks
