[Solved] [OT] Shrunken images

Post by pinnerite »

I am currently watching part of an old colour movie.
As sometimes is the case with old movies the image is smaller than the screen.

The aspect ratio of my 17 inch screen is 5:4
The image looks as though it 3:2 (like a 35mm frame).
The black border at the top and bottom is about 250 mm.
At the sides about 450mm.

There appears to be no MythTV control to vary this but I seem to recall Kaffeine does.
Am I missing something?

You can try the video playback options.
Press M then there is the Playback Menu.
Select second entry: Video.
Then you get a menu with lots of options for scaling and resizing and there could be just one that is good for you. There is even a "Zoom" option which allows independent scaling and offsetting in X- and Y direction although I have never used it.
