Recording options

Post by pinnerite »

I habitually set the start time back by a minute and the end time forward by the same.

Is it possible to set these as defaults?

I've done the minute change myself by changing the default template recording rule to start 1 minute early and end 1 minute late.

Edit Manage Recordings -> Recording Rules -> Default (template) -> Schedule Options to change for all future recording rules. Be sure to save the change.

I can get into recording Rules but there are no options but a table of recording rules.
I can edit each one individually but not set global options, which is what i wanted to do.

Thank you anyway.

In the table of recording rules there should be a recording rule called Default (Template) that is the specific rule to change. Future created rules use these settings as a starting point.

the default recording rule is global. Set it to start recording 1 minute early and 1 minute late will cause all following recordings set to have the options as default.

How do you get that 1 minute granularity? When I attempt, via mythfrontend, to change the start and/or end time in the default template it jumps in 10 minute increments.

I used the left and right arrow keys to decrease or increase the value in one minute increments.

@pinnerite, modifying any recording rule template affects the template itself and
any future recording rules using the template. Existing rules aren't affected.

Thanks for the tip! I was mouse clicking on the arrows.

Another way...

On FE->Setup->Video->General->General (Advanced) And you will be presented with options to record before and after a programme.
