Any recommended antennas?
I always seem to find some channels work better with my antenna facing one way some when I move it another. Anyone have any recommendations on how to get all channels working nicely at the same time? Multiple antennas? Do boosters help?
Re: Any recommended antennas?
While it is possible to combine the signals from multiple antennas, it's not always optimal to do so. You might consider using a box like the HDHomeRun, which has multiple over-the-air tuners. That way you can have one tuner for each antenna. Of course, this does mean running two cables down from the roof, which may not be easy depending on your setup.

N.B. with v30 (ref. https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Release_Not ... structions),
the setup of capture cards has changed. Details in the commit in the last bullet item.
A networked tuner with multiple inputs can no longer uniquely select a card. The -0, -1 etc. suffix
is no longer used.

I've been using an old Channel Master 4228 8 bay antenna for at least 15 years. It works good for high vhf channels (7 up) and excellent for uhf channels up to 80+ miles. It has a wide range of reception for long distances so it doesn't need to be pointed direct at the transmitter to receive good reception.

Won't work anyways all tuners are combined to one input antenna.bill6502 wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 7:06 pmN.B. with v30 (ref. https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Release_Not ... structions),

Do you need to have this outside or would it work in an attic?wesnewell wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 8:51 pmI've been using an old Channel Master 4228 8 bay antenna for at least 15 years. Re: N.B, a user here had a dual input HDHR, and their inputs on different antennas.
Each source had it's own capture card With v30, the suffixes went away (to allow sharing)
and thus the proper card couldn't reliably be used. It worked prior to v30.

Worked fine in my attic for some time before I moved it to the roof. As with any antenna, going thru wood is ok, metal not. I'm about 40 miles from the antenna farm. Right now it's blocked by a huge tree in the direct line of sight and still works great.penguinjeff wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 9:18 pmDo you need to have this outside or would it work in an attic?wesnewell wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 8:51 pmI've been using an old Channel Master 4228 8 bay antenna for at least 15 years.
