Recommendation for ATSC antenna

Post by Jase74 »

Hi. I too am contemplating cutting the cored.

I have been thinking of buying this HDTV Antenna:

My question is, if I build out a mythTV DVR. Do I plug the HDTV antenna cable into the PC running mythTV or do I plug the HDTV antenna into the TV?

I guess, I don't quite understand how the mythTV DVR captures the HDTV signal? Is there a specific component needed to act as a mediator?

Thanks in advanced...

You buy a tuner card for your PC, and plug the antenna into the tuner card.

I could be wrong but that antenna looks like a gimmick. I'd research carefully before buying.

Oh, and your tuner doesn't necessarily have to be a card in your PC; it can also be a box like the HDHomerun Dual or Plus.

More BS than what's in a stuffed turkey for that antenna.

If you want a good antenna, and you don't need any low VHF channels, it's hard to beat this one.
