501 error on install of JW Player

Post by mollcons »

I am trying to follow the instructions in the web version of MythFrontend which display when I select a recorded program:
"Your browser does not support adaptive streaming with HTML 5 Video, you will need to install JW Player™ to use this HLS test page"

I then select the link "install JW Player" from the "3rd Party Software/Install JW Player" menu option, I immediately receive a "501 Not Implemented." error.

Why is this? How do I resolve the issue?

Hi,

Works for me, but I'm running on v31-Pre.

mythbackend --version will tell what you're running on.

There was a fix [6ae82b11] for v29 and above.

No idea why you're getting the 501.

From the backend, try: cd /tmp ; wget http://www.mythtv.org/ftp/3rdParty/jwplayer.zip
It gets redirected to the same URL, only with https. So try that if the above fails.

FYI, on the backend the unzipped files live under: ~mythtv/.mythtv/3rdParty/JW_Player

At present I am trying to set WebFrontEnd up in Windows 10 (using Chrome, rather than Firefox).
