Mythtv as mediatomb replacement?

I had installed minidlna to replace mediatomb and didn't even think that I see mythtv showing on my tv as well for sharing videos.

Would I just be able to place videos in my mythtv directory some place to share them through it? Or can I add directories to scan?

It may be better to have a few ways to get them but I'm looking to see how to share videos I already have downloaded via mythtv.

Yes you can have as many directories as you want for videos. You do need to do a rescan if you add them.

Is there a rescan using inotify option like some of the others offer?
