Two New Installations, Two Different Main Menu ? [Solved]

Post by urbnsr »

I just upgraded two computers to Ubuntu 18.04 and MythTV 29.1 via a fresh install/hard drives. One is a BE/FE and the other is a FE only. Both computers had the sames roles before the upgrade. I restored the database from the previous setup (MythTV v.0.28) Both computers are set to the theme of MythCenter-wide.

I notice the BE/FE has a main menu that seems to pull from the /usr/share/mythtv/themes/defaultmenu/mainmenu.xml. On the FE only unit, the main menu seems to pull from /usr/share/mythtv/themes/mediacentermenu/mainmenu.xml. This mediacentermenu file is also on the BE/FE unit. I don't find a copy of mainmenu.xml in my ~/.mythtv directory.

How can I change the FE mainmenu to match the BE/FE main menu? I imagine I could just copy the mainmenu.xml file, but wondered if there was a designed way to handle this change?

Thank you.

Just change the 'Menu Theme' setting to Default.

You'll find it under Settings -> Appearance -> Theme / Screen Settings -> Menu Theme
