Best Playback Profile for High Powered System
I've read a bunch of information about playback profile but haven't found a clear recommendation for 1080i playback. I've got a reasonably high powered system (quad core i5 7500 processor and GTX 1050 video card). The default playback profiles High Quality, OpenGL High Quality, and VDPAU High Quality all produce around the same motion blur on panning. I assume I'll need to play around with the options within one of the profiles, but which profile do I start with? The CPU and video card should each be up to whatever I can throw at it. Suggestions on where to start or options for the BEST 1080i video? Thanks.
Re: Best Playback Profile for High Powered System
You have an NVIDIA card and therefore are most likely running the nvidia drivers, so use the VDPAU profile, as this offloads as much decoding as possible to the GPU, whilst the other profiles use the CPU for decoding. Then play with the deinterlacing setting to find the one you are happiest with.
