how can i concatinate 2 mpeg files

Post by tonyguadagno » Wed May 03, 2017 12:15 pm

hi, i have a show that was split between 2 mpeg files. what I would like to do is cat a.mpeg b.mpeg >c.mpeg but I am guessing it is not as easy as that? what is the easiest way to tape 2 mpeg files together to make one whole one?

thanks!

You can use

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i concat:file1.ts|file2.ts -map 0 -c copy outfile.ts
if you dont have ffmpeg installed mythffmpeg should also work.

FFMpeg wiki Concatenate, has examples of this and other methods.

Daradan, i finally got around to trying this and the command failed, this is this fix

ffmpeg -i "concat:file1.mpg|file2.mpg" -map 0 -c copy file3.mpg

note the "" around the concat

thanks again
