Receive and Record Local IPTV generated streams?

Post by jtarkington »

Been searching the forum and google to determine if MythTV can work with recording a couple of locally produced / encoded IPTV MPEG-TS streams.

It appears that I may be able to use the FreeBox support to accomplish this, can some one confirm or share what they have done for something similar?

Thanks!

Yes MythTV can record or watch IPTV streams. It needs improving in some areas to make it work for all stream though. Master is working better than fixes in this area.

The basic setup is similar to this https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/User_Manual ... g_Recorder

Yes it can work but I wouldn't try with anything less recent that fixes/0.28.

I currently use mumudvb (http://mumudvb.net/) to convert my usb dvb tuners to http unicast then use the iptv tuner from multiple backends to access the same stream, for testing purposes etc. The link paulh posted is probably the right place to start otherwise don't hesitate to ask questions.
