How to sort through OTA channels that are duplicates?

Post by jimls » Mon Dec 27, 2021 6:14 pm

I just rescanned channels for OTA (USA) and have lots of sub channels that look like duplicates. As I was going through the channels I saw what looked at first glance to the the same cooking channel many times. I see that some of the channel descriptions are longer than others. If I could get that as a text or spreadsheet list then I could compare then and delete duplicates. This isn't for the main broadcasts but a number of them have old movies and such - apparently cheap for them to get and air. I could just go through them on screen and jot down the list manually but it gets a bit tedious for 50+ channels. Is there a way I can get a list out with more than the channel number and name from mythtv, schedules direct, or my silicon dust tuner?

Try this.
https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Channel_Editor
It will allow you to sort channels in various ways, do bulk hide or delete. It will also export/import a CSV file.
