After removing BBC3 from OTA they have now brought it back again! So a rescan is necessary.
I found a 'Scan of all existing transports' didn't work for me, BBC3 didn't appear and the other channel renumbers didn't happen. A delete of all channels was needed first.

Interesting! If the new BBC3 channel is on an existing multiplex then it should have been found. A "Full Scan" should have found the new BBC3 channel even if it is on a new multiplex or if the multiplex has been moved to another frequency.
Existing channels will keep the channel number they have; if you have manually changed the channel numbers these changes are preserved across channel scans.
If you delete all channels and then do a "Full Scan" then all channels will have up-to-date channel numbers.
It is a good idea to upgrade first to MythTV version 31 or later before you delete all channels because then your existing recording will keep the channel names in the GUI; otherwise they will show something like #1234#1234 instead of "BBC1"or so.
