Re: Frontend on raspberry pi 4

It doesn't seem that many attempts at configuration "take." For example, one doc says to modify /boot/config.txt with: hdmi_force_hotplug=1 hdmi_group=1 hdmi_mode=16 but doing such only results in a change in "preferred": tvservice -m CEA Group CEA has 22 modes: mode 1: 640x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:25M...

Re: Frontend on raspberry pi 4

Maybe the source of the problem is that the display is NOT going at 1080p. tvservice -s gives: state 0xa [HDMI CUSTOM RGB lim 16:9], 3840x2160 @ 30.00Hz, progressive and tvservice -m CEA yields: Group CEA has 22 modes: mode 1: 640x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:25MHz progressive mode 2: 720x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, c...

Frontend on raspberry pi 4

I am setting up a new frontend on a raspberry pi 4 with 4G ram. I am running raspian buster and mythtv-light. Something is very wrong with sound sync, whereas the usual playback menu option allows one to adjust millisecond audio timing, I think in my case the sound leads the image several seconds. A...

So I bought a Silicon Dust Servio, now what?

Recently I bought a Silicon Dust (SD) Servio, this is SD's newly introduced recording device. I think it's basically just a NAS with a SD dedicated software/hardware interface. (It has a 2T drive.) I just got it, so far after some fiddling I am able to record OTA TV on my SD Quattro tuner using my A...

Re: Audio delay with hdmi at start of playback

Years ago I had this problem, thought it was a malfunction of my HDHomerun tuner. I filed a ticket with Silicon Dust, they had me run some tests, then they told me they thought it was a pre-failure problem with my recordings hard drive. I replaced the drive, and lo and behold: the problem went away....

Re: HDHomeRun Quattro

I have a Quattro, works well, currently on v30 of MythTV. I'm not expert on HDHomerun devices, but I have been using them for years. As far as I know, they must have an IP address, which could be acquired by DHCP. In my case I give the device a fixed IP by address reservation on my router. I believe...

Re: HDHomeRun Premium TV

It appears Silicon Dust is shutting down its "Premium TV" service. See, for example: https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=129&t=69262 The company says it is "... not done innovating. We are excited about upcoming plans for improving the cord cutting and cord shaving experiences." Sad....

Re: HDHOMERUN Quattro tuner (HDHR5-4US)

I have a Quatro tuner and am running v30 with no problems. Do you have the latest firmware on the HDHomerun? I have 20180817.

Hope this helps.

Re: Remote Recommendations

I really like the OARUSB04G: https://www.amazon.com/One-All-OARUSB04G-Universal-Programming/dp/B00HNIHM5S which is also a very flexible remote when used with JP1 programming. (For example, I control a fifth device, the Roku, by mapping a key to add a roku device.) It's also supposed to be programmab...

Mythweb now never updates DataDirect status (Solved)

My subscription with Schedules Direct is good thru early 2020, but MythWeb's status page never gets this updated status; for example, this morning this is its report: Last mythfilldatabase run started on Fri Feb 1 2019, 12:19 AM and is Successful. There's guide data until 2019-02-22 03:30:00 (21 day...

(SOLVED)Re: No audio after upgrading to v. 30

Phew! False alarm, thank the gods of MythTV. After setting up a work-around, successfully playing sound directly thru the (crappy) TV speakers, I re-plugged the cables to troubleshoot why no soundbar sound... then sound worked! Huh? After upgrading, someone was working around our TV setup, maybe dis...

No audio after upgrading to v. 30

I had a completely working system, separate v0.29 frontends and a backend. After upgrading to v.30 one frontend has no sound; another frontend on different hardware, the sound is OK. I go into the audio section of setup of the faulty frontend, but can find no device that has sound. The default devic...
