Re: Netflix now Native on Linux: MythTV Frontend Integration

EDIT 2: So it seems in QT 5 they've stopped using QWebKit as instead are integrating Chromium. This is good news, since it makes it more plausible that Netflix will just work by the time we switch to using QT 5, bad news is that's still some way into the future unless we get more (good quality) vol...

Re: Netflix now Native on Linux: MythTV Frontend Integration

Seamless integration seems highly unlikely at this point. It only works by virtue of extensions to the closed source Google Chrome, not, as I understand it, the open source Chromium on which Chrome is based. Best we can do for now would be to launch the Chrome browser if the user has it installed, a...

There used to be a better diagram showing multiple backends (not required in most cases) and multiple frontends, but I can't find it.

Re: Problems after Mythbuntu 14.04 apt-get upgrade

Start by only upgrading the mythtv packages, this is reveal whether it's a MythTV bug or not. At this point I doubt it's MythTV, there have been very few changes in the stable branch in the past month and nothing at all which could explain your issues.

I assume this was a custom recording rule? Was it created through mythfrontend or mythweb?

Re: (UK) Channel ITV HD not flagged as HD in Guide

As you've correctly guessed, the EIT data (programme guide) broadcast for those channels is wrong. At this point MythTV can only implement a 'fixup' to try and identify that it's in HD either through clues in the programme description or by hardcoding an exception based on the channels serviceid. Ho...

Re: MythTV Update Available

When you say 'videos', do you mean recordings, videos, DVD or Blu-ray discs? Is it possible that the dialog is part of the video itself, does it re-appear if you rewind? Are you capturing from a STB via an HD-PVR or analogue capture device?

At some point I'm going to be expanding the Services API to include options for MythMusic. However I don't have a timeframe in mind.

Re: Working 0.27 Windows Build

We don't support older releases, so 0.26 is unsupported and it doesn't build with Visual Studio. Only 0.28 does.

Re: gentoo mythtv-0.27.1_p20140527 gcc 4.9.0

gcc 4.9 is pretty broken, even if you manage to get mythtv compiled it will probably segfault a lot. I recommend you stick with 4.8.x for now.

Re: Live TV Streaming

Just to clarify something Karl said, although MythTV offers a UPnP server (something that's receiving a lot of attention for the next release), it does not yet offer livetv over upnp. Only recordings, video and music are presently available.
