Re: Verbose MythTV log

Logs are stored at /opt/dvr/var/log/mythtv.27 . Due to a bug with logrotate, the current backend log might be under /opt/dvr/var/log/mythtv.27/old . Have you looked at them? mythfrontend: simply start it from the command line; --help will show you all the loglevel and verbose options. mythbackend: t...

Re: MythTV cannot connect to database

-bash: mysql5: command not found The link I gave you was the directions I took, I have tried Macports in the past, should I maybe go this Macports again You linked to the downloads section of the main Myth on OS X page so it was unclear which software you actually are trying to install. Assuming yo...

Re: MythTV cannot connect to database

mythTv cannot connect to database I am trying to install MythTv for mac ox and is proving impossible at best. I have followed the instructions to the letter You mean these instructions, right? http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MacPorts#Before_first_run and followed what I need to download to the letter (h...

Re: Mythweb just lists directory

I'm away from my Myth system but I seem to recall that the address is case sensitive. Try:

http://localhost/MythWeb/

Re: Building my first HTPC under OSX or Linux. Need advice.

MythTV has no support for the capture APIs in OSX, so there are no compatible ATSC tuners. The only tuners that will work on an OSX system are, as mentioned, network-attached tuners that MythTV communicates directly with. That likely includes the Ceton tuners as well, but those are only useful for ...

Re: Complete uninstall and reinstall

I thought everything was fine. I enabled the UPnP server to be able to stream to a WDLive box in the kitchen. I realised that I had to set the IP addresses to the machine's IP address 192.168.0.225 rather than localhost. I did that on the backend and recorded a program Tuesday night and was able to...

Re: Complete uninstall and reinstall

How does one completely uninstall MythTV including the backend and SQL database. I would like to reinstall it and start again as I am experiencing stability problems.. Recordings disappearing, recordings failing, TV tuner not connecting, Live TV not working etc. The software will be precisely the s...

Re: Building my first HTPC under OSX or Linux. Need advice.

If you wish to run under OS X, the only viable choices for tuners are the SiliconDust HDHomerun products: either the Dual or Plus. I believe at least one user is running Myth on a Hackintosh. SchedulesDirect works great in Canada. I use a Bluetooth keyboard with my Mini so I imagine you ought to be ...

Re: No Remote Front End connection to database in 0.27

The default configuration under MacPorts is for access from the local machine only. You need to grant privileges within MySQL to allow access from other machines on the network. Have a look at: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MythTV-HOWTO#Modifying_access_to_the_MySQL_database_for_multiple_systems Craig ...

Re: Problems with OSX frontend - stutter/unusable

One frontend is starved for data, others are not...but the network is capable of delivering lots of packets. It is...puzzling.

Re: New OS X Installer

The installer is intended to be 'everything-in-one' -- replacing bits and pieces is discouraged. I'm working on an update to 27.1 although we're really only missing a few fixes for Live TV. The 'problem' is that MacPorts is transitioning how various database versions are handled (MySQL 5.1/5.5, Mari...

Re: Cannot see recordings

Are your recordings on an external drive? Or the boot disk? What did you enter in mythtv-setup as the path to the recordings?

Re: New OS X Installer

Thanks Craig - so I do a 'sudo rm -rf /opt/dvr' followed by a 'sudo rm -rf /Applications/MacPorts/MythTV' ? Yeah, or use the Finder. ;) You'll get back a little over a gig of hard drive space. I noticed that in the /Applications/MacPorts directory, there's also Python 2.6 and Qt4. When I look in th...

Re: New OS X Installer

How does one uninstall the files and directories created by this .mpkg file? I already have macports installed and proceeded to install this .mpkg file without realizing I should've installed the various port packages for mythtv core & mysql. Is there an uninstall.mpkg file or explicit list of file...

Re: Problems with OSX frontend - stutter/unusable

Hmm. Maybe have a look at Activity Monitor while trying to play a recording. Is the CPU hammered? Memory exhausted and pushing into swap?

Might also have a look at Console to see if there are any obvious error messages from OS X.
