Re: Remote frontend can't access backend MySQL

Here's something that I'm curious about. As I type this I'm watching a program using the MythTV Android app. It works perfectly. The Android app can do most of the important things that the Linux fronend can do including list, play, and delete recorded programs, display the channel guide, and list ...

Re: Mythbackend problem

The above says that mysqld is running. From your original post: 2014-08-07 13:29:54.065741 N Using configuration directory = /home/everyone/.mythtv says that you're probably starting your backend as user 'everyone'. So, look at that home directory for .mythtv/config.xml. Repeat the above test with t...

Re: Search & Record by min. length

Hi,

Try: ... AND TIMEDIFF(program.endtime,program.starttime) > '00:22:00'. And here's a reference:

Re: automatic startup using upstart failing

Hi, You're probably right. Note the log entry: Using runtime prefix = /usr/local. Yet in your Upstart script, you're starting with: exec /usr/bin/mythbackend --user mythtv ... Type: echo $PATH and you'll likely find that /usr/local/bin comes before /usr/bin and that's why it works from the command l...

Re: How to set storage group weighting?

You may need to wait for a dev to weigh in here, but I read the Wiki as saying your local SSD would default to -19, so no need to change it. Same answer for your using /mnt/FreeNAS. I read the Wiki as requiring a directory that exists in a Storage Group. Your version of the script looks good to me, ...

Re: How to set storage group weighting?

The wget is using the MythTV Services API to change the data in the settings table. It is a slightly safer method than using mysql and does no error checking of the data supplied. You need to use wget because thr Services API endpoints that change things must be a POST as opposed to using a browser ...

Re: Configuring Infinitiv 6 ETH for MythTV

Maybe a Infinitiv 6 ETH user will reply, but in the mean time, if you start your backend with: -v record, or if it's already running use: mythbackend --setverbose record, then you'll get additional logging that will answer the "I'm worried" part of the above. You should see a message with your IP, s...

Re: How to set storage group weighting?

Hi,

They can be changed with the wget in that section. As the note says, there is no GUI to change them.
FYI, I've never changed the defaults.

Re: MythTV updates and channel icons

Hi, Should I change the script above to using "me" instead of "mythtv" or does it even matter? mythtv is the 'normal' user. It matters because the user owns files created by the backend. I wouldn't change it. For the record, you can remove the channels directory in "me"/.mythtv/ (or just rename it b...

Re: MythTV updates and channel icons

No, the ChannelIcons Storage Group is one of the built-in groups. Everything you've done looks good. Here's the another way to verify that the icons are where they're supposed to be: http://ICS-MythTV:6544/Guide/GetChannelIcon?ChanId=someValidChannelIdHere , assuming you didn't change your hostname ...

Re: Cannot series record Jeopardy

Here's my SD data: http://pastebin.com/M8EnyYcx I just scheduled it (through the mythfrontend) and it works OK. I used "Record all showings" and the next 12 will be recorded. Note that you can edit the recording rule and add a filter for HD only (press m and select Filters.) Note that you wrote 'Jeo...
