Re: ip:6544 is not secure it is ignoring parental settings on videos?

All = /Capture;/Channel;/Content;/Dvr;/Guide;/Music;/Myth;/Video / isn't actually valid, the ManageUrlProtection endpoint returns false, as you found. Sorry about that . / was removed after a tester used All and MythTV's UPnP was shut down. I did use SQL to add it just to verify that backend:6544 wa...

Re: mythwelcome - does not shut down

Hi, I'm missing the 'documentation error in mythshutdown --status' question, this is what I see $ mythshutdown --help status ... returns 0 - Idle ... 255 - Setup is running $ mythshutdown --status ; echo $? # and mythtv-setup is running on this host Setup is running... 255 Where is the 256 documenta...

Hi,

The default is --basic authentication.

Use: curl --digest --user admin:mythtv --data AdminPassword=mythtv\&Services=None yourBackend:6544/Myth/ManageUrlProtection

Re: mythwelcome - does not shut down

Don't know about #1. For #2, 255 is what I get. But, the bits are additive,
256 implies setup + transcoding, although that seems to be a big coincidence.
See if mythshutdown --help status helps.

Re: ip:6544 is not secure it is ignoring parental settings on videos?

In the above, using / will block everything (more than using All). That will prevent unauthorized access to ipOrHostname:6544 too. But there's nothing to honor parental settings. 3rd party apps can and have set their own blocking UI. /, by the way is likely to block UPnP. There's work afoot in maste...

Re: mythwelcome - does not shut down

Hey Phil, with the same backend logging, can you see anything in mythshutdown.log? Of interest (to me) is from mythshutdown/main.cpp: the setting MythShutdownNvramCmd" defaults to: "/usr/bin/nvram-wakeup --settime $time" but I don't use mythshutdown, rather my ServerHaltCommand in settings is set to...

Re: MythTV confused by daylight saving time

There were massive changes in 0.26 to solve the DST issue: https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/UTC Back then, I shutdown when idle and didn't have the issue. But for the last few years, my backend is always on - and I still don't have any trouble when the time changes. Looking with journalctl, I can see tha...

Re: http://localhost:6544 returns 404 not found

Let's see if the backend is even getting the request. On the running backend, type: mythbackend --setverbose http Then tail -f the backend log and from a browser or another window try the failing endpoint: curl localhost:6544/Status/GetStatusHTML You should see something similar to: 2021-03-30 12:08...

Re: http://localhost:6544 returns 404 not found

I suspect you're starting the backend with the --noupnp switch.

Work is ongoing in the master branch to decouple the entire Services API from UPnP,
but it's hasn't been done in v31. Most endpoints work, for example:

Code: Select all

curl <backendHostNameOrIP>:6544/Myth/GetHostName

Re: MythTV keeps recording even though schedules are deleted?

In your custom scripts, don't delete directly from the DB. Use the Services API. For example: curl --data RecordedId=<n> --header Allow:Application/JSON localhost:6544/Dvr/DeleteRecording curl --data RecordId=<n> --header Allow:Application/JSON localhost:6544/Dvr/RemoveRecordSchedule You can replace...

Seems to be dependent on if a user is logged in or not. I've seen the same. And don't have a solution.

Re: Mythfilldatabase runs, but doesn't insert into guide

Note that: Result: mythfilldatabase ran, but did not insert any new data into th Guide for 1 of 1 sources. This can indicate a potential grabber failure is an observation, not an error. If you run MFDB and they're no new programs, you'll get this message. I saw fixed above, so I'm marking the Subjec...

Re: Myth doesn't connect to Silicon Dust tuner properly after power outage

It's started by Upstart, if memory serves. Try looking in /etc/init/mythtv-backend.conf
or something like that. http://upstart.ubuntu.com/cookbook/#pre-start

Re: waking from suspend, then shutting down

You can do systemctl cat mythtv-backend.service or just get specific properties to see if ADDITIONAL_ARGS is in play: systemctl --no-pager show --property=ExecStart,EnvironmentFiles mythtv-backend.service ExecStart={ path=/usr/local/bin/mythbackend ; argv[]=/usr/local/bin/mythbackend --logpath /var/...

Re: waking from suspend, then shutting down

@Linuxgrrl, check the timestamp of the message and see if it matches the time you're attempting the checklogin (I suspect not.) Also the message is informational, note the " I " in the message. The full message (which only occurs once early in the startup sequence) in my logs looks like: 2021-03-14 ...
