Re: Building Mythtv 31.x on Catalina

Also, you might trying running

otool -L $SRC_DIR/programs/mythfrontend

to see exactly what the frontend is linking against. You might be getting a system version of a lib rather than one you intended to get from MacPorts.

Re: Building Mythtv 31.x on Catalina

I haven't attempted a build of 31 yet, but some random observations: 1) nasm is now preferred over yasm. eg: https://lists.gt.net/mythtv/commits/627574?search_string=nasm;#627574 2) Dependencies. Do you have qt5-mysql-plugin installed? I think it is needed for database access. 3) Re s/VideoToolBox/V...

Re: Trouble streaming a PLS file that works in a browser

@paulh Thanks for the link!

It has been so long since I've added new stations, I'd forgotten that quite a few were not playable. I thought it might be an OS X limitation so I never mentioned it. Are you going to open a bug to track the problem?

Can I access the search page for that radiosure.com site? Where?

Thanks,

Re: Another case of Decoder timed out waiting for free video buffers

Hi all, I have a 5 computer MythTV setup, 1 combined BE/FE and 4 FEs with varied hardware setups, ranging from a 10+ year-old BE/FE with a GT210 graphics card, a RaspberryPi 3, a couple of low-power computers with integrated nVidia graphic cards, a more powerful desktop (for 4K viewing) with a GeFo...

Re: White Box covers most of Screen

Thanks for the details but your issue seems to be quite different from what I experienced. Too bad--I was hoping that a fix for this issue might also fix the problem I saw.

Re: White Box covers most of Screen

I take it the white box appears after some sequence of actions? What are those actions? Can you reliably trigger it through a certain set of steps? When the white box appears, does the frontend still accept and process keystrokes? Can you navigate through menus, etc? If you have a mouse connected an...

Re: Looking for guidance, what to buy, what to repurpose

Can someone please clarify the relevance of the HDHomerun's "mpeg2" with the MythTV setup? Link: www.amazon.com/SiliconDust-HDHomeRun-Connect-2-Tuner-HDHR5-2US/dp/B076FNSM6B/ When I'm getting at is this: does the tuner receive a signal, and then encode the stream into mpeg2, and that is the format ...

Re: Looking for guidance, what to buy, what to repurpose

Q1: mythtv-setup needs a X11 session set up. Others know more about doing that remotely than me. Q2: The HDHomerun Connect Duo currently available from Silicondust is a great solution for OTA. If you find 2 tuners inadequate in the future, you can keep adding Duo's until you have enough! Q3: No expe...

Re: Building MythFrontend 30.x

Ahh, OK. I know that message has the "Error: " prefix on the line but that is actually port install working as it should. The Qt software is 'special' because there are such a huge number of modules and the Qt project only targets very specific versions of the Mac operating system for particular rel...

Re: Building MythFrontend 30.x

...I built with 10.11 because at the time, that was the latest my main Mac could run. It actually caused me a little trouble with MacPorts. I had to force it to grab an older version of QT5. ... If you happen to know, which Qt version caused issues? What version worked OK? What were the symptoms of...

If you installed with the all-in-one installer from SourceForge[1], all logs are in:

/opt/dvr/var/log/mythtv.28

Re: Who fancies a video Advent Calendar exclusively for MythTV users?

Thanks Paul. Re platforms, I literally don't know what platforms can be supported with QML. iOS and Android? iPad? AppleTV and other streaming boxes? To me, that is (was?) the major opportunity with the WebFrontend--the potential to be able to access recordings from any device which could understand...

Re: Who fancies a video Advent Calendar exclusively for MythTV users?

In the fullness of time, what platforms do you intend to support with this? Clearly you've put a lot of time and energy into this project. Why this and not, say, flesh out the WebFrontend?

Re: Is there interest in compiler support patches to old branches

Hi: What about opening a ticket on the MacPorts Trac with the patches? https://trac.macports.org/newticket [need to be logged into Github to submit] Could you explain more about the patches? When you say UI code and configuration, what fixes does that include? When I tested 5 or 6 months ago, the re...
