Re: Debugging, log keyboard entries seen by frontend?

Ie, 5_1,5_2,6_1,6_2 enter "6" and it lands on 5_2 That sounds consistent with the code comment I linked to earlier. Maybe the rationale is to distinguish 6_1 from 66_1 ? It should accept separators (# - . _) so try 6#1 It does seem to get confused if you're not showing the "All Channels" group, ie ...

Re: Debugging, log keyboard entries seen by frontend?

Yes, I over-simplified it because I don't understand why it works as it does. US channel numbering is odd... https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/blob/master/mythtv/programs/mythfrontend/guidegrid.cpp#L1452 https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/blob/4442e68c14f4342a5693325fe527c7ce13c55fea/mythtv/libs/libmyt...

Re: Debugging, log keyboard entries seen by frontend?

Sounds right! It's jumping to the next channel id/number that begins with a '3', '33' etc. Puzzling how "it's changed" because it's been like that since 0.24. https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commit/6326e02aa570fd879faa6ab2481d78bb487bc7b7 But then I saw another thread where you say you've just upda...

Re: Debugging, log keyboard entries seen by frontend?

It doesn't sound like a lirc issue. Are you talking about the EPG number keys jumping between channels (& the time-out), as in Live TV ? The wiki suggesting they act like Page Up etc is wrong/out-of-date IMO. It's odd if you don't realise what it is doing... There is an (undocumented) theme element ...

Re: User Job reports error but completes

Depends on your Menu Theme. One of these should work for you. For Default: Main Menu->Information Centre->System Status->4th Tab For Classic: Main Menu->TV->System Status->... For DVR: Main Menu->System Status->... For Media Centre: Main Menu->Advanced->System Status->... https://www.mythtv.org/wiki...

Re: User Job reports error but completes

The bookmark issue is fixed in recent 29/fixes.
The script logs its progress in Myth's System Status/Job Queue screen ("job.update").
That should tell you how far each previous run got.

Re: Change from .27 to .28

Glad you're on 29.0
You need to be on 29/fixes to get these bug fixes but I can't remember how mythbuntu control center works.
The builds have finally been un-bunged so, if you can get it to update. this fix will be in it.

Re: "Attempting to connect to Database" error...

There could be 2 issues lurking here. 1. You're using 192.168.0.5 for localhost and usually reboot. Maybe the backend is starting up before the network? It's an irritation specific to Ubuntu 16.04+. Try changing your master backend address to "localhost" or 127.0.0.0. 2. When you restarted the backe...

Re: Change from .27 to .28

The ticket is still open. I'll be adding a setting to 29/fixes in the next few days.
We don't support 0.28 any more.

Re: mythtv-setup craches after a scan while updating

Apologies for the duff advice. I was testing a proper patch today when I too saw an illegal instruction. My initial hunch was wrong but there is a bug: it crashes after entering a new number for a new channel that has a number conflict. New conflicting -> Manual Update -> Edit -> Enter -> illegal in...

Re: mythtv-setup craches after a scan while updating

More likely that you've stumbled on a subtle bug in Myth rather than Qt/gcc etc. The dialog handling looks iffy. Does it crash as soon as you select something on the 2nd dialog it displays ? If so, then the quick workaround is to ensure you get no conflicts by deleting all channels before you scan. ...

Re: videometadata table behaviour

Do you have settings for local videos defined ? https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Configuring_Frontend#General_Settings ? Typically storage group videos have no path whilst local (including NFS/Samba share) ones do. So it sounds like the scanner is detecting the same files twice; once via the Videos stora...

Re: Importing Video to transcode

It must be a filename of a Myth recording, ie. in the database. Detecting commercials is hard. Different algorithms give different results for different channels/locations. Usually they're are reliable enough to be useful but not completely accurate. So automatically transcoding (cutting out commerc...

Re: How to force refresh EIT data

It must be turned on in 2 places; 1. The Video Source must enable EIT: mythtv-setup/Video Source. Presumably you're already using "EIT only". Otherwise tick "Perform EIT Scan". 2. Channels are flagged for EIT individually to permit mixing of guide sources: mythtv-setup/Channel Editor/E to edit/tick ...
