Re: Recordings Work, Videos Do Not

That's not a real address. It's not localhost (::1), so it's trying to use it instead of the IPv4 address, and failing.

Re: Recordings Work, Videos Do Not

Did you specify a hostname in mythtv-setup where it asks for the IP address of the backend?

Re: Video meta data

No. Processing is all done within the MythTV binaries. The python bindings also have the ability to use grabbers, and I was just using them as a sanity check on that file.

Re: Video meta data

It parses fine at least in the python bindings. I'm not home to check on a frontend. The error you got merely means that QDomDocument failed to parse the XML. Considering it's valid XML, the only thing I can think of is that the text of that file is not being pushed into the parser properly. The fir...

Re: Video meta data

Could you post an example file? MXML files should follow the syntax defined for metadata grabbers.

Re: Commercial flagging recording rules

The recording rule defaults are manipulated using the "template" rule. Just edit it like any other rule.

Re: Horizontal 1px border on 16:9 in mythvideo

I ask about resolution as MPEG variants require video resolution to come in multiples of 16 pixels. Green lines at the bottom of video usually result from video resolutions not following this rule.

Re: Video meta data

Content in Storage Groups can only be served up by the backend, so you configure them on the backend, and the frontend should be able to access them.

Re: Is MythTV the right choice for my predicament?

While MythTV would work fine technically for your application, the bigger question is whether you would legally be permitted to do so, or if that would fall outside the purview of "fair use". Reuse of short excerpts are generally considered acceptable, but I have no idea at what point acceptable bec...

Re: 0.28 Master and LibCEC2

At the moment, unless you're planning on developing CEC features yourself, there's not much point to using CEC with MythTV at this time. Last I checked, the only capability MythTV had was to be able to assign a keypress to power the TV on and off.

Re: Mythbackend problem

I'm not asking about your backend. I'm asking about your database. The frontend, backend, and database server are three separate entities.
