Feed that URL to a script that can parse it, find the file, and pull it down from a remote backend if necessary.

Perhaps, but still only about as powerful as a mid-range P3 per-core, and many tasks, such as MPEG2 decoding, are not multi-threaded. While one of the devs has a CuBox development board to play with, MythTV does not currently support any hardware accelerated decoding interface offered on any ARM system. You can compile and install MythTV on it, but you will not actually be able to play recordings.

The scheduler is running a very large query. Scheduler runs will produce very high database server loads for several seconds to tens of seconds, depending on the amount of data that needs to be processed.
