Re: MythTV 0.28 on 12.04 (precise)

Normally I install mythtv via the mythbuntu ppa, but they do not build 0.28 for 12.04 (precise). Can I build an 0.28 myself using this guide No, you can not easily build MythTV 0.28 on Ubuntu 12.04 do to missing depenencies ( QT5.2 ). Otherwise there would likely be a PPA. I cannot update my 12.04 ...

Re: Possible bug with tuner status HDhomerun Prime

That is correct. MythTV does not implement any kind of tuner sharing. For now just statically assign tuners / devices to each application. 10043 , a patch to implement minimal locking, has been committed to the development tree, but not merged to fixes/0.28 as it is a contested change, was close to ...

Re: Upgraded 0.27 to 0.28 mythweb problem

waverz wrote:!!NoTrans: Incompatible protocol version (mythweb=77, backend=88)!!k
That sounds alot like MythTV was updated to 0.28 but MythWeb stayed on 0.27. The suggested "sudo apt-get install mythweb" to update MythWeb, too, should fix that if it happens again.

Re: protocol wrapper for iptv recorder

The problem is, if I understand correctly your solution, if I have a m3ue list with a number of channels, I'll have to start a vlc session, with its own broadcasting port, for each channel, all sessions working simultaneously. I'm I correct? That is exactly the thing I solved with my solution. "on-...

Re: protocol wrapper for iptv recorder

Some years ago I was listening to radio shows via a local VLC transcoding server to wrap the stream into MPEG2-TS. That might work for other streams that VLC supports, too. As finding the building blocks was not as easy as I expected I wrote them down. If you can configure VLC to receive the RTP1 st...

Re: mythtranscode downgrading audio to stereo

Hmm, that sounds like a bug then. One last thing to verify would be if it is just the signaling in the container (and the audio playing back is still 5.1) or if the actual audio stream is converted to stereo. I could not find a ticket for this issue, can you file one? (please include the version) ht...

Re: mythtranscode downgrading audio to stereo

Does this sample only have one audio stream? The common conversion from MPEG2-TS to MPEG2-PS leads to loss of metadata, like audio language, so you may automatically end up listening to a different audio stream without doing anything different. Also, do you keep all audio streams? I had a situation ...

Re: MythTV for Netgear ReadyNAS?

That's a great idea. Out of the box support for a pure web based installation is not finished, yet. (You still need a remote X11 session for setup.) But the API is already there for an integrator to write a "ReadyNAS MythTV plugin" that sets MythTV up with MySQL, Storage and configures the HDHR (or ...

The bits appear to be correct, maybe its the encoding or decoding of the three enums into one value?

Re: "Last chance" option?

Pushing stuff, that is going to be gone soon, closer to the top of the watch list sounds like an option. Roger has some improvements for the watch list in the pipe in #12296. One improvement is support for different "watch list strategies". So your "Last Chance" could fit in there.

Re: Emby Integration

Emby appears to do DLNA, have you tried connecting to your MythTV backend via DLNA?
Looking at their naming standards you may also want to try mythlink.py.
