Re: Impossible to set empty metadata fields

That sounds like it may be a bug, can you elaborate on what you did and the unexpected outcome at https://code.mythtv.org/trac/wiki/TicketHowTo#OpeningaTicket ? What is the filename what is the correct series / episode name what did you get as series / episode name As a workaround you could rename t...

Re: IceTV Series Recording for MythTV

Hi Dave, thank you for the offer. I ran it by developers of our scheduler and it appears that there are conceptual differences that make the integration non-straightforward. As we schedule based on the guide data (e.g. a seriesid if present) I looked for the XMLTV grabber to start with the basic int...

Re: Tuner using incorrect frequency/multiplex UK

Yes, this appears to be a bug. To configure a DVB-T setup that can receive multiple networks/transmitters but should only receive from one it is easiest to pick one transport of the preferred site and manually scan it, then learn the other transports of that site only from this transport. But never ...

Re: HDHR4-2US Can't use both tuners at the same time

That sounds as if both the scheduler and livetv prefer the same recorder/tuner. Lets go through a small checklist both tuners of the HDHR should share the same video source The recording and livetv order of the tuners has one ascending and the other descending, so recordings start one one tuner and ...

Ok,.. So to give you the background to my request and bring folks up to speed Yes, that topic has been under discussion for some time now on our users list, our development irc channel, the xmltv lists, twitter and various forums. Re: mfdb parameter passing...

If I run MFDB,.. how do I pass parameters to the atlas grabber to only pull 24hrs/ 1 days worth of data from a set point in the future.. You don't pass these parameters directly, they are mythically added depending on the current guide data in the MythTV database. Notice that the output of MFDB sho...

Re: first time recording, numerous issues

Any thoughts to the file format? As Bill wrote, the file on disk will usually be written in MPEG-2 Transport Stream format. Basically what comes down the wire/air from the broadcaster written to disk as is. Up to version 0.27 we used a generic file extension of .mpg, from 0.28 we properly append .t...

Re: Multipurpose home media server with MythTV backend

Depending on the operating system a network attached tuner may be a better/easier choice. (it avoids the whole DVB driver related issues) I don't need (atm) this live streaming over network, because TV is connected to same T2 antenna as server should be. Yes, devices like the HDHR tuners. But not b...

Re: Multipurpose home media server with MythTV backend

I only hear good things about the HP MicroServers. Depending on the operating system a network attached tuner may be a better/easier choice. (it avoids the whole DVB driver related issues) MythTV will likely be only shuffling around bits, so the CPU doesn't really matter (software re-encoding is fro...

Re: Duplicate recordings since 0.28

My first thought it that there may have been changes in the guide data aquisition code that leads to the programmes not being indentified as duplicates anymore. Can you verify that in the upcoming recordings / guide both programmes have identical data? E.g. programid, seriesid, title, subtitle, desc...

Re: Autoexpire active with 50% disk used

Seems that my myth box is auto expiring recordings at an alarming rate, some that have just been recorded that day, as if the disk is full however it says between 50 to 55% used. Bit of a head scratcher as I've gone though the settings in MythWeb and can't see anything obvious relating to disk usag...

Re: TV cultures

I was just making the case for the USA, which was one of the requests for how thing are differently outside the UK. Its appreciated. As MythTV originated from the USA some key concepts are hard to grasp for me. I was trying to point out where the difference originates as it helps me understand how ...

Re: TV cultures

Example: last year BBC one changed its callsign to BBC one lon and I had to recreate all my bbc1 recording rules. If I had changed the callsign in the database instead, would it still have worked? It depends. The recording rule stores a chanid. The relevant callsign is the callsign of that channel....

Re: TV cultures

Interesting questions that I (as an european trying to understand how MythTV works) have been thinking about, too. Q2. This one is isn't easy. Sometimes they are the same but sometimes they are different. For instance, the local PBS channel callsign is KETS1, the PBS affialiate for CREATE TV callsig...
