Re: pctv 292e tripplestick no HD channels in mythtv

Some hardware or their drivers are unable to cope with determining tuning information such as modulation automatically. MythTV will generally try to give the hardware the most specific information possible for this reason, but this information isn't always available. In the UK the HD multiplexes (gr...

Re: Recording fails,.. that started successfully

MythTV itself starts from scratch when tuning, it resets the recorder each time, so a failed tuning earlier in the day wouldn't lead to it failing later. Some drivers though do contain bugs that cause similar problems, once they get into a failed state they don't recover until they are removed and r...

Re: Where is www.mythtv.org?

We're still on the old server, we've not moved yet :) The problem is that there is a lot to document before we switch, we're using a mix of software, several different subdomains and services each with their own configs, dependencies etc. It will happen soon though. The irc logs are working, not sur...

muh3 wrote:P.S.: does somebody have an idea to get the channel-icons transparent?
mythtv provides the icons as jpeg ;(
I'll add an option to GetChannelIcon to return the icons in PNG format.

Re: Internal Player - Stutter on busy network

On second thoughts forget the patch, O_STREAMING isn't in current version of linux and O_LARGEFILE is unlikely to make a difference here.

Re: Internal Player - Stutter on busy network

You might try this patch, I don't know whether it will help but it may. diff --git a/mythtv/external/libmythdvdnav/dvdread/dvd_input.c b/mythtv/external/libmythdvdnav/dvdread/dvd_input.c index 6962b5e..2885ab1 100644 --- a/mythtv/external/libmythdvdnav/dvdread/dvd_input.c +++ b/mythtv/external/libmy...

Re: Internal Player - Stutter on busy network

MythTV uses libdvdread and libdvdnav. These libraries do not interact well with Samba. Does the NAS not support NFS (many do)?

Re: DVB-S OK, DVB-S2 failing

I wonder if the driver is 8PSK aware? I think you'll need to ask the LinuxTV guys - they don't have a forum but they do have a mailing list http://linuxtv.org/ or an IRC channel on Freenode, #linuxtv

Re: TiVo died....now what?

That particular quote, about the Celeron 600Mhz, I believe predates the arrival of High Definition. That's not to say that MPEG2 encoded HD requires a lot of CPU, it doesn't, certainly not compared to H.264 encoded HD used for broadcast outside North America or with Blu-ray discs. I can't really com...

Re: UPNP DNLA mysteriously not working

I know it doesn't answer your question, I just thought you should know why at least one of the client you tried won't work. Check which IP addresses MythTV is listening (netstat -atunp), UPnP operates on the 6544 port. Do you have a firewall running? Check whether your firewall and router support mu...

Re: UPNP DNLA mysteriously not working

Firstly, UPnP is completely broken in some versions of the desktop VLC, they use libupnp which was only recently patched to fix these flaws. Secondly UPnP in desktop VLC is implemented extremely badly, it can effectively DOS your MythTV server which an extreme amount of traffic, just be warned. The ...

Re: scheduler mythdb.cpp:183 (DBError)

One suggestion is to try using '' instead of \' in the query. We're not able to reproduce the issue you are seeing here, but some versions of MySQL apparently only support double single quotes ('') for escaping and not backslashes (\')
