Re: How do you build MythTV version 27 with QT5 on Debian Li

I'd just like to repeat what StuartA said, being able to build against QT5 does not mean 0.27 will work with QT5, it won't, there are a number of changes in QT5 which make it incompatible with applications developed against QT4. We don't support QT5 with 0.27, but we will in 0.28.

Re: MythTV cannot connect to database

Mysql defaults to not listening on external (non-loopback) IP addresses. Check my.cnf for the skip-networking option, if it's there remove or comment it.

Also check /opt/local/etc/mysql55/macports-default.cnf for the same option.

Re: MythFillDatabase segmentation fault

The fact that it's reporting a crash with QString::isEmpty() indicates a bug in QT on OSX. QStrings are default initialised and yet it's crashing with 'Bad Access' which is suggestive of it trying to access an unreserved or uninitialised area of memory. I've no experience of debugging on OSX, but th...

Re: Easily (mass-)delete/move recordings in webinterface

There are plans to offer the same 'playlist' bulk deleting, bulk moving etc in the WebFrontend as is currently present in MythFrontend.

Re: XMLTV <date> parsing

Technically <date> is for "The date the programme or film was finished." While this is a little ambiguous, that's taken to mean the date of production and not the date on which it was broadcast - especially since the original broadcast date and time will vary by network and region or country. Filmin...

Re: High CPU usage in mythfrontend.real

It's only using 848MB ... which is a fair amount, a lot more than I'd expect but it can vary depending on many factors including display resolution, theme and what it's currently doing. However doesn't explain why you'd be going into swap when you've got 16GB available.

Yes it can ... but if that's all you're looking to do then VLC might be a lot simpler.

Re: Freesat frequency

Satellites can broadcast the radio waves of a single frequency in two planes - with horizontal polarity they oscillate side to side, with vertical polarity they oscillate up and down. The number of LNBs (receivers) you have is unrelated to the polarity. All you need to know is that some multiplexes ...

Re: Freesat frequency

It's asking for a frequency to start scanning from. Satellites can use a very wide range of frequencies and a completely blind scan would take a very long time, so we ask users to give the frequency of a single channel, from which it can learn the frequencies of all the other channels. There has bee...
