Re: MCE Remote On Debian

Well, I'm about out of info. I just installed lirc on this machine for an mce remote even though I don't even have a receiver on it. The files are exacty as I posted earlier for the machine that does have a remote on it. The only device created was /dev/lircd. No /dev/lirc0, which seems reasonable s...

Re: MCE Remote On Debian

From the working system in my previous, this is what i have. Don't know if this will help, but it's all I can think of to do. wes@mythfe1:~$ ls /dev/lirc* /dev/lirc0 /dev/lircd wes@mythfe1:~$ ls /etc/lirc/ hardware.conf hardware.conf.old lircd.conf~ lircmd.conf hardware.conf~ lircd.conf lircd.conf.d...

Re: MCE Remote On Debian

If you've never messed with lirc it cna be a nightmare until you figure it out. If you've loaded the lirc package, you should have all the tools that come with it. The main ones are mode2, irw, irrecord, and of course lircd, which is the actual program that runs. Try the man pages, they will tell yo...

Re: Cannot series record Jeopardy

If you disable eit scan for every card, you won't be able to use it at all. You can disable eit on a per channel basis in in the channel editor. I think you can also disable it all together there or it may be somewhere else in the setup. That's where I disabled it and left the cards alowing it.

Re: Seek function (Jump to)

Well, I figured it out tonight. It just doesn't work like it used to in 0.23, where it jumped forward the amunt of minutes entered automatically after the entry. I'm sure most people know that it now jumps to a specific time in the recording. Pressing the right arrow subtracts the entered time from ...

Program Guide format

Some time back, around mythtv 0.20 you could select the number of rows and timeslots in the program guide. Since then, it's been hard coded in the schedule-ui.xml file and most limit that value to 7 rows (channels) and 4 time slots. So since then I've been modifying these files to allow more rows an...

Re: Seek function (Jump to)

Well, it's not random, just weird. It always goes to the same point in the recording when you enter the same value. Happens on all recordings, regardless if they've been flagged or not. Problem is, it jumps to the point in the recording that amount from the end. IOW's, if the recording is 3 hours lo...

Seek function (Jump to)

Seek seems to go anywhere it wants to. I hit *33 right arrow and i expect it to jump 33 minutes ahead. Instead it may go anywhere, forward, backward, 1 miute ahead, an hour ahead, just random places. I use this a lot in sports recordings and now it's totally worthless. Same thing on all FE machines....

Re: Can't play video files

Well that did it. Switching from real ipv6 address to :: (no 1) did it. Don't know why it won't work with the real address though. Guess I don't care at this point though. Now if I can get seek to work properly I'll be happy. BTW, thanks a bunch.

Re: Can't play video files

wes@mythfe0:~$ hostname mythfe0 wes@mythfe0:~$ It does find the dir and list the files, it just won't play them. The IPV6 address is correct so I don't know what's happening. eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:21:97:df:af:a9 inet addr:192.168.1.190 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: ...

Re: Delete watched videos from frontend?

Now, I just have to remember how to map one of the Streamzap keys to the letter "D"... You just have to edit your lircrc file for the button you want. On my system there's a link to the actual file located at /home/user/.lirc/mythtv. But it may be a differnt place on yours. I'm using Mythbuntu 14.04.

Re: Delete watched videos from frontend?

I guess I don't know what type file you're talking about. It works on everything I have. Videos, Images, recordings, etc. Also works in mythtv-setup to delete cards, profiles, whatever. I don't stream stuff off the Inet in mythtv, but if it's streaming there's obviously nothing to delete.

Re: Screen started freezing in liveTV and recordings

I was thinking of the sysytem refresh rates. The TV being 5 years old may not be able to do it max rate any longer, and the system probably set it to max. Should be something with xconfig that will allow you to change it. It's been a long time since I messed with this, so I don't recall exactly how ...
