Re: Interested in Connecting W/Myth TV Expert in Philadelphi

The PVR 150 is an old analog ntsc tuner card. IIRC, in 2009, all major local broadcast changed to ATSC digital except for very few low power stations. What are you trying to record from? AFAIK, the only way to record with that tuner would be to have a DTV converter box or have some other source of a...

Re: Recording live subtitles - can it be done?

Set up a manual record for Wednesdays from whenever to whenever on the channel(s) you want to record, or daily, weekend, weekday, etc. Whatever you want. Or a custom record schedule.

Re: Getting IR transmitter running on Ubuntu 14.04

lirc shouldn't need to know anything other than the port number. You may need to set the port baud rate with setserial, but other than that iirc only needs the port number as far as I can remember. It has been years since i used a serial IR receiver though.

Re: "MythTV could not connect to the database"

I've got a frontend box using an SSD drive that does the same thing because it boots too fast for the network to initialize in time I guess. I just hit Escape a couple of times so it reloads and works fine after that. Not enough of a bother for me to fix, but you could put a few seconds wait in the ...

Re: TBS IR remote

Remotes that come with tuner cards usually require special drivers for the receivers. You may find what you're looking for here. https://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=tbs+tuner+remote+linux&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 But it would be much easier just to get a supported receiver so you could...

Re: PVR Recordings Won't Delete:

Just go to your recordings directory and create a dummy file for the recordings he deleted. Then delete them with the frontend in the normal way. echo dummy>> /path to directory/filename Filename will be in the format 1273_20140816160000.mpg 1273 is channel number (27-3 in this case) 20140816 is sta...

Re: Recordings are glitchy but live TV is fine

Myth uses different tuners for recordings and live tv as default usually. So if you have multiple tuners, recordings will start with tuner 1 and live tv will use last tuner. Switch through all your tuners in live tv and see if you can find the one with the problem.

I've been using 3 of the Dvico Fusion HDTV7 Dual express cards for years and they've worked great. But I can't find a place to buy them and I don't read Korean.

Re: Remote frontend can't access backend MySQL

All that data looks good, except the ipv4 address is 192.168.0.120, not .119. Connecting to the backend server from a remote is pretty simple. All you need to do is make sure the ports are open, it listens for the addresses that try to connect to it, and you have the correct user name and password. ...

Re: Can't find channels (am I missing something)

If you're close to any ota stations, you can get them with a $5 bow tie antenna. Just plug it into your tuner card and do a scan. it needs to be facing the direction of the stations transmitters.
