Re: 0.31 backend constant crashes and/or non responsive

Select mythconverg in the left panel. In the right panel, go to bottom and select check all. Then in the with selected box select check tables. If they all come back OK, you're good. If not, select the bad ones and try the repair tables. A quicker option would be: sudo mysqlcheck mythconverg from a ...

Make sure you've set the BE setup to allow for remote connections. I'm pretty sure there's a setting in there for it somewhere.

Re: 0.31 backend constant crashes and/or non responsive

I had a corrupt mysql db recently and used phpmyadmin to repair it. mysqlrepair wouldn't repair it.

Re: mythtv updates keep overwriting /etc/mysql/conf.d/mythtv.cnf

Years ago, I had the same problem as you do. My solution was to add xmythtv.cnf to the dir with the bind address of 0.0.0.0 and being the last in the dir, it was the last bind address used, and never overwritten.

This is what it should look like. wes@mythfe0:~$ cat /etc/mysql/conf.d/mythtv.cnf [mysqld] bind-address=:: max_connections=100 wes@mythfe0:~$ This one was just updated yesterday. wes@mythfe0:~$ ll /etc/mysql/conf.d/mythtv.cnf -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 45 Jun 23 15:51 /etc/mysql/conf.d/mythtv.cnf wes@my...

Re: New ATSC tuners

Will it, or won't it? Since I don't have an hdhr, I can't test it. I have tested recording 5 sub channels with 1 of my internal tuners and it works fine. The most shows I've recorded at once was 12 or 13 iirc. But that was just for testing. It worked fine.

Re: New ATSC tuners

With almost all stations these days having multiple sub channels, it makes the hdhr pretty much worthless in my book and certainly not an option I'd consider. For my cousin who only gets 2 stations with a total of 7 sub channels as I found out it would be very cost prohibiuted. She'd need 2 quad hdh...

Re: New ATSC tuners

There are a lot of areas where 1 station carries 2 or 3 major networks, so yes, it is a consideration if you happen to live in one of these areas. One that comes to mind is where my cousin lives close to Atoka OK. There are just 2 stations that she gets there, but each has 3 sub-channels. With 2 reg...

Re: New ATSC tuners

Just to clarify, they can only record one virtual channel per tuner? IOW's they could only record one of these channels per tuner, 8_1, 8_2, 8_3. and 8_4, which are all on the same real channel 9 here. With a regular tuner one can record all of these at the same time with just 1 tuner.

Re: New ATSC tuners

Just curious. Will the hdhr tuners record more than one channel per tuner as can regular internal tuners that can record up to 5 channels per tuner?

Re: Database address update

Your isp doesn't control the ip addresses of your local domain, your router does. I've yet to see a router that the default ip address can't be changed. Most default to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 with a certain segment assigned fro dchp. I've got a several routers here that the isp's have provided o...

Re: New ATSC tuners

If I needed one today.
Hauppauge WinTV quadHD - Digital TV tuner - ATSC, QAM - HDTV - PCIe.
You can still find them for $99.95. Or maybe search ebay for a cheaper one if you don't want 4 tuners.

Re: Database address update

Easiest way to fix this is to just assign your old system ip address as static in your new router. Then everything is the same as before. It's usually self explanatory, but if not, consult your new routers manual.

Re: Storage Group not found

When you schedule a recording, in Storage options of the recording rule, select store in whatever name you gave to the group. The default option is the Default storage group. IOW"s create a storage group with the name "temp" in be setup. Then assign /home/mythtv/temp to that group. Then when you set...
