Re: Can't get TBS6522 to scan DVBC

V30 was the release for 18.04. You need the V31 ppa to upgrade to v31 if you stay at 18.04. I think a distribution upgrade to 20.04 will automatically upgrade your mythtv to V31 also. You may still need to manually install the V31 ppa to get later updates for it.

Re: v31 configuration guide?

/media is probably not a good choice as it is used by the system for hot plug devices like usb things. There are several default directories usually set by install package under /var/lib/mythtv es@mythfe0:~$ ls /var/lib/mythtv banners coverart db_backups fanart livetv music recordings screenshots st...

Re: Schedules Direct no longer working with MythFillDatabase

Not really, it's just that there is no mythtv user after a normal install of xubuntu. Then after installing mythtv the backend setup runs as the normal user. Been that way ever since mythbuntu iirc. When using The old sd grabber it didn't matter iirc. But for the xmltv grabbers it does.

Re: Schedules Direct no longer working with MythFillDatabase

Those skipping channel messages aren't errors, just means you don't get those channels. If you want to run mfdb from both user mythtv and user xxxx, you have to have the .xlmtv in both users home under /home/<user>/.mythtv/??.xlmtv. These files should be identical and they both should point to the s...

If you want to try different kernels I'd suggest installing ukuu. sudo apt-get install ukuu. That will allow you to easily try as many kernels as you like, old and new. Another option would be to compile your own kernel from source, after modding the bttv driver source.

Re: Twinhan 3250 tuner works great in Windows, only half channels in Linux?

If I'm right it uses the bttv driver. That's part of the kernel source, so the source code for it is available. It may even be fixed in a later kernel, but I have no idea which kernel you are using. This is the one on my system. wes@mythfe0:~$ ll /usr/lib/modules/5.4.0-42-generic/kernel/drivers/medi...

Just a wag. If you can find the driver source code, it shouldn't be too hard to change the min/max ranges. Should also be able to change it in the raw code with some searching. Take your pick of minimum.

Re: Moving old recordings to new box.

Just copy all the recordings to the video dir, or mount the old drive and make it part of the video dir . You can play them from there. Edit the name, whatever.

You can pretty much bet the farm that the problem is the Linux driver, but that's mot done by the mythtv group. The Linux TV group does that. try contacting them. Good luck.

Re: "mythbackend is running on this system" message on frontend-only systems are you sure you want to shutdow

Yeah, someone got bored and decided to add some extra code in V31 for shutdown. I had macros in my remotes that from anywhere in mythtv it would jump to main menu, enter esc, arrow down 3 times, enter enter, switch to tv mode and turn off TV. Had to redo all of them to account for extra prompt, but ...

Hardware of each machine?
Since it's just HD, sounds like not enough power.
Try different player profile on each FE.

And there won't be any channels to edit using mode=lineup and llineup=USA-OTA-76078. It just give you all the channels assigned to that zip code. The ones you don't get with a scan and entered into mythtv's DB are just ignored and skipped. Don't worry about it. If you aren't getting guide data for s...

Re: XMLTV grabber returned error code 1

In the BE setup I selected the standard grabber, not the sqlite one. I actually didn't configure the control file in setup. I just copied it from from a backup from a previous install. At least that's what I remember. Maybe I'll try and change to the sqlite version and see how that goes. I remember ...

Re: XMLTV grabber returned error code 1

I get about 20 unknown channels on mine. those are channels that aren't in your DB because you don't get them doing a scan. Don't worry about them, or get a bigger antenna so you might receive them. I get about 85 channels from the dfw antenna farm in Cedar Hill which about 40 miles SW of me.
