Re: autoexpire list?

Just type d for starters, I don't have any to test with. If that fails, undelete as you did before, then see: https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Frequently_Asked_Questions#How_do_I_remove_recordings_that_no_longer_exist_on_disk.3F The rational there explains that MythTV preserves the metadata in case the ...

Re: Some Recordings Fail

With atsc, each real channel (frequency) can support a number of sub-channels. Not sure what the max is but I know we have a couple here that has 7 sub-channels each. Some have an HD channel with 2-3 SD channels as well.

Re: Some Recordings Fail

Been a while since I tested it, but I recorded 5 at once using 1 tuner. 5 sub-channels. I've got 6 tuners and i now have mine set to 2 each. I've never recorded more than 6 at once though. So without changing the most I could record now is 12 at once. What the heck, I'll give it a go. Hmm.. don't kn...

Re: Another case of Decoder timed out waiting for free video buffers

Until recently all 5 of my system used nvidia chipsets, and all work perfectly using the kernel driver. Before that I had lot's of problems too with the prop driver versions. Switch to the non prop drivers and you should be ok. All of my video is onboard video. Most are GF8200, with one 6150 on an o...

Re: Potential problems migrating to Debian 1.9?

If you're going to upgrade, V30 is the latestest version. Might as well go to it.

Re: Another case of Decoder timed out waiting for free video buffers

I've also got 1 be/fe combo and 4 other fe only machines and don't have a problem now. A while back I hd problems with something similar. Turns out it was a disk hardware problem. Had 2 750GB disk running in raid 0. It worked fine for a few years but then I'd get freezes and the HD light would come ...

Open mythweb and run repair database. If that doesn't work, try to do it from CL. man mysqlrepair.

Re: Fifth Hauppauge Tuner Causes All Tuners To Error Out

Check your mb mnual to see if any slots gets disabled under certain condidtions. This is mine. Also, before upgrading th bios, having any of my tuner cards installed caused the system to not even boot. Not even into bios. Make sure you have the latest bios. PCIe slots: PCIE1 (PCIe 2.0 x1 slot) is us...

Re: Fifth Hauppauge Tuner Causes All Tuners To Error Out

Sounds more like a MB PCIe channel limitation. Might try upgrading bios. I know my MB has limits. Can't use this if you use that, etc. May be time for a multi-tuner tuner card or two. I use 3 dual tuner cards.

Re: Looking for guidance, what to buy, what to repurpose

I don't know much about the HDHR, except I wouldn't buy one to use with mythtv for ota when there are much cheaper and better choices imo. Just look around the forum and you will see many questions about getting them working properly with mythtv. Also don't like the fact that they take up ethernet p...

Re: Assign a key to exit mythfrontend immediately?

When using the frontend anywhere, pressing the power key on my remote exits wherever I am and shuts down the computer and turns the TV off. This is done using macros of the remote. What the remote actually does is send the key codes to jump to the main menu, the escape code, to bring up the exit men...

Re: A channel does not play often

I feed 11 tuners from my antenna with no problem, BUT, I do have a distribution amp that amplifies 2 outputs, From one I feed 7 tuners, and 4 from the other one. The one that feeds 7 is actually 3 dual tuners in my master backend and 1 TV. The other feeds 3 tv's and an old vcr.

Re: autoexpire list?

Ok, none of that worked. What I ended up doing was what I teied to avoid, but coudn't I guess. Which was to create a dummy file of the same filename, then delete it from the recordings screen. I could then delete it from the autoexpire list. Was hoping for an easier way, but this way works. First un...

autoexpire list?

I've got 22 items in my autoexpire list that are marked (deleted) and I can't get rid of them. They are months old and of course the actual recordings have been long gone. I can undelete them and they show up as blue in the recordings list. If I delete them from there, they go right back to the auto...
