Re: Unexpected Recording Conflicts

The status page tells me all tuners are not recording.

I rebooted anyway and set up 6 items to record contemporaneously as previously.

As before all but one were highlighted in red!

I am going to delete the backend and frontend logs and shutdown until tomorrow.

Re: Unexpected Recording Conflicts

Mm. I changed the ownership of /home/mythtv and everything beneath and shutdown.

I waited about 15 minutes before making a cold boot and again set six broadcasts to record at the same time.

Only one made it. The others are marked as conflicting.

Re: Unexpected Recording Conflicts

OK. I ran the updates / upgrade suggested, removed the drivers from the existing kernel, booted into the new kernel, downloaded, compiled and installed the latest drivers (again) and rebooted. I deleted the old items that failed to record and set a new group of eight to record. Only one did so. I re...

Re: Unexpected Recording Conflicts

I did as instructed. I then set five different programs to record at the same time. None of them did. I deleted the non-recorded items and shut the system down. This morning after rebooting, I took a copy of the (complete) backend log excluding only entries from before today: Mar 9 13:01:00 origen m...

Re: Unexpected Recording Conflicts

I apologise. I felt guilty about expecting you to scan the whole shooting match so cut what I thought were the least informative lines. :( $ ls -lha /home/mythtv total 64K drwxrwxr-x 14 sshd mythtv 4.0K Mar 1 14:50 . drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 4.0K Apr 24 2018 .. drwxrwxr-x 2 sshd mythtv 4.0K Mar 8 10:0...

Re: Unexpected Recording Conflicts

The replacement driver process went smoothly. I changed the 'Max' values for both tuners to '5' and set the recording process to record five programmes currently being broadcast. The result was much the same with similar conflicts as earlier. This is the complete backend log for this morning. Sadly ...

Re: Unexpected Recording Conflicts

I originally had the Max recordings set to 1 for adapter 0 and 4 for adapter 1 (no idea why). I changed adapter 0 to a max of 3 and following a modification to a different application, I rebooted. After restarting: Schedule Status reported: 1 Conflicting 19 will record on card 1 "Adapter0" 1 Will re...

[Solved] Unexpected Recording Conflicts

Having got Mythtv 29.0 to work smoothly, I started to select programs to record. I was surprised and disappointed when I found that many selections were in conflict. I should have been able to record at least two programs at the same time as my TBS-6280 has two DVB-T2 tuners. # dmesg | grep -iC 3 "T...

Re: Cannot login to database

I missed your second message about the password. I edited config.xml in both locations. (they are not linked) to replace the password with 'mythtv' and could get into the backend setup. I could then get to the backend setup but could not save the capture card setting. I then cheated and restored res...

Not quite what you had hoped for I'm afraid: root@origen:# mysql --user=root --password mysql --host=localhost --execute="SELECT Host,User,Password FROM user ORDER BY User,Host" Enter password: +------------------+--------+-------------------------------------------+ | Host | User | Password | +----...

Re: Cannot login to database

I ran:
sudo rm -rf /root/.mythtv

I tried:
mysql --host=localhost --password=hFclugQ7 --user=mythtv mythconverg
but it didn't work.
For the record, athough
mysql -u root mysql
ran OK from a root prompt, it doesn't from a user prompt.

$ locate -b '\mythtv-setup.real
just returned a >

Re: Cannot login to database

mythtv-setup is a script but it does not set MYTHCONFDIR I have never had to set it manually. Here is ~/.mythtv/config.xml <Configuration> <LocalHostName>origen.asandco</LocalHostName> <Database> <PingHost>1</PingHost> <Host>localhost</Host> <UserName>mythtv</UserName> <Password>hFclugQ7</Password> ...

Re: Cannot login to database

I must apologise. I mislead you. I had set a root password. It was 'mysql'.

I do not remember doing it but running through all the terminal commands executed as root, I came across it.

I will follow up later after a period of sackcloth and ashes.
