Re: Watching Videos on remote FE client

The pi does not require any privs. The mythtv backend will just stream to the frontend assuming it can find the file. As you copied a file to the /mnt... and the pi found it, it would appear the storagegroup settings in mythbackend may be wrong or missing. You can have multiple directories in each s...

Re: Advice for a Linux novice, hoping to switch from Argus T

The chances are good that at least one if not both of the tuner cards will work "out of the box" under Mythbuntu. The wiki pages have a lot of old stuff in them which may not apply to Mythbuntu 16.04 - make sure you use the 64bit version. Just install Mythbuntu and then try to configure the cards in...

Re: Vbox Multirecord

Just a quick update. Most of the Live TV problems were due to a bug with multiplex restriction code in Master, I have raised a ticket see https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/12891 I have also tested with a single USB DVB-T/T2 tuner (Astrometa) LiveTV and scheduled recordings are working fine across ...

Vbox Multirecord

I have an Vboxcomm XTI 3442 (dual DVB-T/T2) running firmware XTI_VJ.2.54.2. I have made an attempt at patching mythtv master to support multirecord on Vbox. I have successfully had 10 simultaneous scheduled HD recordings on UK Freeview, see attached screen grab from Vbox streaming status screen. Scr...

Re: Channel editing and Schedules Direct

Hi Mike, I have looked at this and and found the problem. I am somewhat embarrassed to report that the API call UpdateDBChannel does not appear to support changing CommFree. See: https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Channel_Service#UpdateDBChannel https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/API_parameters_0.28#Channel_serv...

Re: Notes on getting astrometa dvb-t2 to work

Great find. Just tried the frontend swop on a clean mythbuntu 16.04 system with latest 0.28/Fixes. All I had to do was change the Signal timeout to 7000 and Tuning timeout to 10000 and ran a full scan, all 8 muxes (UK SandyHeath transmitter) , 3 of which carry HD were found . No need to adjust bandw...
