Re: Relationship between videosource and capture cards ?

Sorry my instructions were poorly worded. You need to create in Capture Cards, a hdhomerun device for each tuner on the hdhomerun, these are then used in Input Connections. It is only Capture Cards that can be added or deleted (Input Connections follows the currently configured Capture Cards). So if...

Re: honour port setting in mythconverg restore and backup scripts

Just to add

Using Firefox on Xubuntu 18.04

If you can't get it to work, let me know and I can create the trac ticket.

Re: honour port setting in mythconverg restore and backup scripts

The login via github button works for me. I do remember the first time I used it, it took a little while to login (from memory less than a couple of minutes). Note my github login is via password.

Re: Relationship between videosource and capture cards ?

Unless there is a bug, using 2 hdhomeruns connected to different signal sources should not be a problem, provided 2 Videosources are used, one for each hdhomerun. If a SchedulesDirect lineup covers all received channels, only one lineup is required, and can be used in each Videosource.xmltv file. No...

Re: Another question about Pi 4 as backend

I use the mythweb a lot. I notice the images at the leftmost column after getting into "Recorded Programs" are not shown. They used to be found under the "recordings" location in other releases (v27, v28.x, v29.x and v30 with ubuntu 18.04). What did I miss? I've set the ownership of mythweb/data as...

Re: Another question about Pi 4 as backend

When building mythtv fixes/31 or master the following configure line is required, assumes mythtv has been cloned from github i.e. git clone https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv.git Note I have ignored mythplugins for the present (some issues are being worked on). manual build, having checked out the app...

Re: Another question about Pi 4 as backend

As far as "chanid" is concerned, is it really "chanid" or channel number as seen in Program Guide? I am not familiar with atsc, so will leave this for someone else to comment. For building I usually build native on Pi4 as it is faster than Pi2 or Pi3. Clean build of mythtv-light (ignoring mythplugin...

Re: Another question about Pi 4 as backend

1. Commercial flagging issue is limited to Raspberry Pi see https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/13476 2. Externally powered storage will be ok. A USB3 powered HUB (as long as it does not back feed power to Pi USB ports) will also work. mythtv-light is built using a Pi2, Pi3 or Pi4. Official releases...

Re: Another question about Pi 4 as backend

I know this question might have been asked many times. I think the answer might be more updated as Pi 4 has been around long enough. How capable is for Pi 4 4GB board to be the backend server hardware? Any difficulties to record two and replay two at the same time? I am currently using the Lenovo T...

Re: Backend on Pi 4

For commercial flagging there is an open ticket https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/13476 Mike Thanks for the heads up. Out of curiosity is this because the pi4 doesn't have hardware mpeg2 decoding? I have a pi3 with the mpeg2 license, so if I configure it as a slave backend, would it be able to ru...

Re: Master from source on Raspberry 4 4GB

After I run from the console "pi-utils/run_mythfrontend.sh" and exit I don't have a blinking underline cursor anymore. Is there a way to restore that? One way is to run setterm --reset The entire screen is cleared and the cursor is set to the home position, so any previous information on the screen...

Re: Backend on Pi 4

SSD write 3-4 MB/s is definitely a problem, and might need usb-quirk in /boot/cmdline.txt for the USB SATA converter on Raspberry Pi4, assuming the SSD is not faulty. If you have another machine with USB 3 port e.g. laptop running linux, try the same tests and see if write speed improves (if the dri...
