Re: All tuners are currently busy

Hi

I installed pastebinit and entered as advised the command /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log and after a long wait I got the error "Failed to connected to the server" not the URL I was hoping for.

What should I do next?

Re: All tuners are currently busy

So what's the 5th tuner ? This will dump them: $ mysql -u mythtv -p mythconverg Enter password: <your mythtv password> mysql> SELECT c.cardid, c.videodevice, c.cardtype, i.cardinputid, i.sourceid, i.inputname, i.displayname FROM capturecard AS c, cardinput AS i WHERE c.cardid = i.cardid; As for the...

Re: Upgrade from 0.25 to 0.27

UPDATE; To fully test previous advice I restored an Image of my working 10.04 system from 2013 and tested and confirmed fully Mythtv functionality. All my web site were intact but with content up to the date of the image. I then upgrade using DVD to 12.04 and again from another DVD to 14.04 and I la...

Re: All tuners are currently busy

Hi Dizzy

Had already tried that several times before I posted my query. The cards are probed OK and are fully configured by keep reporting as busy in the FE so the system is dead in the water? Channel scan all run fine and detect all the expected channels so how can they be unusable?

All tuners are currently busy

Upgraded from 10.04 to 12.04 and on to 14.04 however it broke MythTv. Manually reset all the mySQL permissions and upgraded mythtv from .25 to .27 which all worked OK. Reset all the folder permissions and I can start both FE an BE. I can see and play all my recordings but I cannot run live TV even f...

Re: Twin tuner system acting like single tuner system.

Hello

No this is not correct.

I do not have a problem when a 3rd user connects, I have a problem when the 2nd user connects as if I have only one tuner when in fact I have two

How do you select "virtual' tuners? What are the steps to do this?

Twin tuner system acting like single tuner system.

Hello I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and MythTv 0.27 with two tuners attached. In Information Center / System Status / Tuner Status all tuners are showing OK. I see Tuner 6, 7, 8 & 9 are not recording. If I open live TV on one client and open ABC for example it open and runs fine however if I open live TV ...

Re: Upgrade from 0.25 to 0.27

Hello Thanks for the assistance you provided. Having sunk 34 hours troubleshooting, searching Google, running commands and writing up forum posts time to cut my losses. MythTv is simply not worth this kind of aggravation. I will run up Win with Media Centre and both cards will work instantly. I have...

Re: Upgrade from 0.25 to 0.27

Hi Dizzy It makes perfect sense when you explain why I was seeing the error //Test. Thank you for explaining the logic. I run your suggested command without much success: sudo -u mythtv -H mythtv-setup No protocol specified xprop: unable to open display ':0' No protocol specified ** (zenity:2402): W...

Re: Upgrade from 0.25 to 0.27

Re: Upgrade from 0.25 to 0.27

I booted from the live 14.04 and it DOES present you with the option to upgrade when it detects the existing installation. You get 3 options, fresh new install over writing, fresh install to a new partition providing a dual boot where you can run both version or upgrade preserving existing applicati...

Re: Upgrade from 0.25 to 0.27

Thanks Dizy While I was writing my response to you I came to the obvious conclusion the Ubuntu upgrade pretty will nuked EVERYTHING. Because I saw that this fstab was some useless default I realised that the customised version had been overwritten. Post upgrade I had a system that looked like an upg...
