Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

It used to be in the app store, not sure why it was removed, you could be right, I was willing at the time to go through it all if it was possible. I don't use OSX any more for the backend or frontend anymore though, so, moot point. I wish someone would do that though. The current setups are too tec...

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

I got no PM on this forum. There are none in my private messages. Yes, what I was wanting to propose was to make a simple installer, for backend only, frontend only, or, both. Put it back in the app store as it used to be, if that was possible, else, just an installer to be downloaded from mythtv. S...

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

There were tons of time and experiments needed to get versions, environment variables, etc right for the backend. And you say back end only, but, some back end things use python too. And then you have the processes that use the backend, etc. The backend should just compile without much mucking aroun...

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

There are 2 versions of what I created and then moved on since there was no interest. I have since used an Ubuntu machine for the backend. So, I no longer have an OSX backend. The first earlier version I had sent to someone on this forum, I believe there is a public post somewhere from him, don't re...

Re: Import Recorder, best way to schedule?

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. I will likely use the former as I want to avoid updating tables where possible (though that's what I did for a living, would just rather do it the official way). When I get back from Spain and the Canary Islands, will complete the coding to add the schedule an...

Re: Possible to run (trigger) user job via api?

Thank you very much for this and for updating this post! Once I get back from Spain and the Canary Islands (leaving Wednesday), I'll have to update and try it out. This is just awesome.

Import Recorder, best way to schedule?

So, I have created an import recorder. I have some content I want to download from a website, I scrape it (public domain), download it, and then want to use the import recorder. Everything is done, except, scheduling! The issue here is there seems to be no good way to know when a given days recordin...

Re: Is MythTV stable on Ubuntu?

Definitely stable. Using Xubuntu 16.04. I confess I did have an early instance of corruption. I can't stand myisam though so immediately converted all tables to innodb, being a mysql dba formerly. Has run perfectly since, and, recovery is better in general. Having previously run many systems for com...

Re: Possible to run (trigger) user job via api?

Thanks for the update!

I am sure you guys know this. It's available today via mythweb, which a frontend could send http to and execute in that manner. It's not an API, but it is already possible.

Re: Possible to run (trigger) user job via api?

Ah, ok, yes, I can be a tester. I would test on OSX most likely as I have a build environment set up there and a lot of data. Regarding user jobs and variables, fully aware that user jobs run on the backend. Definitely %TITLE% and %SUBTITLE% are useful, scanning the wiki, %SEASON%, %RECID%, %ORIGINA...

Re: Possible to run (trigger) user job via api?

I believe mythutil —queuejob would do what I want. As long as it functions identically to user jobs run via mythfrontend and passes all variables. Add the word potential before uses, i.e. a dozen potential uses. Really, way more than that as this opens up lots of automation possibilities. I don’t li...

Possible to run (trigger) user job via api?

This would be so powerful if this could be done! It would allow so many things to be done in an automated manner. In this case, my use is to remotely trigger a transcode for a specific video, which it then uploads to Google drive in the user job so I can more easily download it the next day. But I c...

Re: API call needed for retain recording

Sure, that would be great and even better. Previously, an endpoint was added for updating watched status (Dvr/UpdateRecordedWatchedStatus), as you say you can add a whole lot of endpoints that update one column in the db, or, do them all in one. There may be some things you might not want to allow u...

API call needed for retain recording

Here is an example workflow we would like to use but currently cannot. We have a daily TV show, do not wish to specify. My wife loves this show. In a normal case. show records, wife watches, all is well, it eventually rolls off due to max # to keep. At times though, life gets in the way. Shows can p...
