Re: Watch TV (live) Is Jittery But Recorded Program Is OK

I am looking at that ticket and verifying the fix. If it looks OK and nobody has any objections I will commit the fix in the next few days.

Re: Can't watch tv or record unless I restart backend servic

Probably your backend is starting up before the network is fully available. The backend tries to open all of the tuners during startup and if it cannot contact them it disables them from use during that backend run. This code in your systemd service file should wait for mysql and the network. (file ...

Re: Mint 18 or is it 16.04 Myth Live TV not working

My guess is that it is not seeing your tuners or your tuners are not correctly set up.

Re: database newer than expected error on new computer

Is this the backend or frontend that is looking at the wrong database? In any case, it looks in the $HOME/.mythtv/config.xml file for the database details. If you have a file there you can edit it to point to the correct place. Some distributions will put a link to /etc/mythtv/config.xml. You can re...

Re: Watch TV (live) Is Jittery But Recorded Program Is OK

Perhaps there is a network issue. Is your frontend possibly on a separate machine connected to the backend using wifi? It would be useful if you can post details of your hardware, tuners, network setup.

Re: Playback Profile Needed for 720p

I suggest trying opengl if vdpau is not working well. Note that in order to use opengl for playback profile you must use opengl for theme painter. "Auto" for theme painter may also work if the "Auto" setting selects opengl.

Re: Watch TV (live) Is Jittery But Recorded Program Is OK

Did you try pressing "Pause" for a few seconds, then "Play" while watching live TV? That may allow the recording to get ahead enough so that the playback is not starved of data.

Re: Playback Profile Needed for 720p

Here is a tip - if you have messed up your VDPAU playback profiles you can get back the defaults by deleting all VDPAU playback profiles, exiting, and going back into setup->playback. They will be added back with the default settings.

Re: Arrow Keys Don't Work Correctly in VNC MythTV

What are you using as VNC server? Vino is the default desktop sharing in some systems. This requires the remote computer to be already logged on before you can VNC unto it. With that I have no arrow key problems. xrdp is another server for linux. It does not connect to your main display and does not...

Re: WebFrontend causes Backend Seg Fault

I recommend to fix mythweb. The web frontend still has some issues, although it should not be causing seg faults

There are instructions at https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Build_from_ ... ll_MythWeb for setting up the web frontend. If you follow that you should be able to get it sorted out.

Re: Arrow Keys Don't Work Correctly in VNC MythTV

Try this:

Add this to your .profile on the machine that runs your frontend

Code: Select all

# Fix QT application keyboard mapping under xrdp
if ! setxkbmap -query &>/dev/null ; then
    export XKB_DEFAULT_RULES=base

Re: problem with mythpreviewgen on raspberry pi 3 ubuntu

My priority is the frontend on raspberry pi. At this stage I do not have any opinion on the viability of using it as a backend. Please create a ticket ( https://code.mythtv.org/trac/newticket ). Set the component as Ports - rPi and I will take a look at it. If you have a mythffmpeg or other workarou...

Re: Disable CEC on Mythtv

That version you are using is the original 0.28 version. This bug has been fixed in Fixes/0.28. See ticket https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/12746 I do not know how you get the Fixes/0.28 version in Arch. With Ubuntu you can use a PPA to get the Fixes version The latest source code on github inclu...

Re: Disable CEC on Mythtv

Add the following option to your command line that invokes mythfrontend -O libCECEnabled=0 If you are running from a menu you will have to update the desktop file to do this. In Linux you will normally find those in /usr/share/applications There is a recent (2 days ago) update in Fixes/0.28 that add...
