Re: Upgrading 0.27->0.28 plus moving to Mythbuntu 16.04

I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I think somehow the backend update/dist-upgrade didn't properly complete. After re-running it, now front and backends are agreeable to one another. First run of the frontend hit an opening screen requesting an upgrade of music database (I think), which I don't...

Re: Upgrading 0.27->0.28 plus moving to Mythbuntu 16.04

Waal, hell!

So, I upgrade front and backend to 0.28. Frontend now complains: "This version of Mythtv requires an updated database (schema is 27 versions behind.) Please run mythtv-setup or mythbackend to update your database.

Hmm.

Wow, thanks for the info, it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've done Linux a long time, but was unaware of the point release aspect of LTS releases. Enlightening!

Upgrading 0.27->0.28 plus moving to Mythbuntu 16.04

I have gotten fat and lazy on Mythbuntu 14.04 LTS with Mythtv 0.27. I am viewing with some trepidation upgrading to Mythtv 0.28 and ALSO upgrading to Mythbuntu 16.04. On plain vanilla Ubuntu, moving to a more recent version can pretty easily be done on line. I don't see anything in Mythbuntu's relea...

Re: trying to identify the bottleneck

I have my backend in the basement, and used to have tremendous problems with frontend "bottlenecks" when viewing programs on the TV on the second floor. I experimented with all kinds of "fixes," but nothing seemed to work. Finally, more or less by accident (some Logitech boxes were on sale) I instal...

Re: TV: could not read first 2048 bytes

I have no idea if the following is really relevant to your setup. Years ago I had a situation where everything worked great on my system except the first 30 sec or so of the recording of one single channel went missing, just about every time (more or less daily, the program was the news.) I contacte...

3 WinTV-dualHD tuner?

I have setup my router to supply fixed IP addresses to the HDHomeRun tuners via DHCP. The nuc and the two tuners are connected via a switch. I use a 10/100 switch as the tuners do not have gigabit ethernet ports, as far as I know. Finally for the recordings I have a 2T hard disk connected via USB to...

Re: Support for Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD tuner?

I agree with Kwisher. My backend is comprised of a DN2820FYKH nuc and two SiliconDust dual tuners and this works absolutely flawlessly.

Re: How to change remote's LEFT key default 5 sec?

Wow, that's terrific: I just tried it and your solution works! I've been trying to find the solution to this for a long time, Googling and the like.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, much appreciated.

How to change remote's LEFT key default 5 sec?

Does anyone know where the remote LEFT key "default is 5" (sec) setting is made and how to change it? I use the RIGHT key 1 min value (? I think that is its value) to home in on a desired position in a recording I am watching, but often, having overshot, would like to go back in 1 min or so incremen...
