mythcommflag Run from Command Line Never Exits

Running mythcommflag from the command line starts but doesn't exit for some recordings ... even when running in verbose mode there are no errors and this is all I get: /usr/local/bin/mythcommflag --chanid 1021 --starttime 20160110150100 --logpath /var/log/mythtv -v 2016-01-10 21:30:24.782101 C mythc...

Delete Recording Not Working

On the Recordings page (/tv/recorded), there are two buttons to the right of each recorded show, namely, (1) Delete, and (2) Delete + Rerecord. Clicking on either of these buttons does nothing because each button refers to the undefined JavaScript function, confirm_delete() In Chrome, the console me...

Re: Problem with mythfilldatabase

… I'd use mythtv-setup and change the mythfilldatabase argument to --dd-grab-all. I loath mythtv-setup. Any idea what database table I could edit instead? - nello Update 2015.06.01 The database fill command appears to be in: mythconverg.settings.data WHERE mythconverg.settings.value = 'MythFillData...

Re: File Permissions on Recordings

To find the version, type: mythbackend --version (I see in the web page you cited, the 0.26 is mentioned and if that's the case, it would explain why mythlogserver is running.) Yes, you are correct that the tutorial specified version 0.26. However, I was pretty sure that I went for the latest versi...

Re: File Permissions on Recordings

But the FreeBSD port appears to run mythbackend as root by default Yes, you are correct. By default the mythbackend runs as root. However, my User Job is running as mythtv. I don't know why the User Job isn't running under the same user as mythbackend. I followed these instructions for setup: https...

Re: File Permissions on Recordings

Seems odd that /usr/local/bin/mythlogserver is running unless you're on 0.26. 0.27 should use ./configure --disable-mythlogserver ... See: https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Mythlogserver . I installed MythTV on FreeNAS 9.3.x using: pkg install mythtv I thought the distro included version .27 but I'm not ...

Re: File Permissions on Recordings

I'm running FreeNAS ver 9.3x The file I was looking for is: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/mythbackend In the following line from this script, I changed root to mythtv : ${mythbackend_user="root"} Also, based on the content of the mythbackend script, I made the following ownership/permission changes root@mytht...

Re: File Permissions on Recordings

Okay, I guess the real issue is that the mthybackend is running as root instead of mythtv: root@mythtv:~ # ps aux | grep mythtv root 6211 0.0 0.4 483508 117360 ?? INsJ 7:28PM 22:28.51 /usr/local/bin/mythbackend -d --logpath /var/log/mythtv root 54434 0.0 0.0 16332 1908 0 RL+J 2:00PM 0:00.00 grep myt...

File Permissions on Recordings

I'm running MythTV with a post-processing ("User Job") script under the mythtv user to transcode and do other things to recordings. Once the processing is done, I want the script delete the original recording; here's an example of a recording file showing its permissions: -rw-r--r-- 1 root mythtv 25...

Re: mythtv video settings on freebsd

What I'm missing is videos in the media player. Every time I enter the folder it says there is nothing in it, and I need to scan. Scan comes up with nothing. A quick check using ls shows mpg file there, but its just not registering. Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by "media player." Ple...

Mythweb Displays (Nearly) Blank Page

I followed these instructions for installing mythweb on Apache: https://github.com/MythTV/mythweb/blob/master/INSTALL Apache and PHP are working in all their glory. But, I get a nearly blank page when I load mythweb.php; there's just a single unloaded ("broken") image in the upper left-hand corner. ...
