Re: Can't believe Just How Buggy Mint 17.1 is..

I'm running Ubuntu, not Mint, however if you have a Haswell CPU and USB3 ports, you may encounter all sorts of issues due to kernel problems. Good point. I don't know if these have been resolved for Haswell, but it is always a good idea to test a newer kernel if having trouble, especially when runn...

Re: How to change from Packaged Mythtv to git

So, it's either Modifying /etc/ld.so.conf.d or setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH as part of the command line? I believe so. Does $QTDIR and $PATH require to be pointed to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt4 then, or the full path? I tried both but still no luck... I still get the QSqlDatabase: QMYSQL driver not lo...

Re: How to change from Packaged Mythtv to git

... Could it be that echo /usr/local/lib >> /etc/ld.so.conf.d/mythtv.conf Should be echo /usr/local/mythtv-dev/lib>> /etc/ld.so.conf.d/mythtv.conf When --prefix=/usr/local/mythtv-dev as per "response from jyavenard". I'm getting out of my depth here - I don't have access to my mythtv system (curren...

Re: How to change from Packaged Mythtv to git

OK, that did not work. I followed the "The second response from jyavenard." from the link as it seems to be the best approach when testing something before going to use it in your main Mythtv setup. But I got QSqlDatabase: QMYSQL driver not loaded QSqlDatabase: available drivers: QSQLITE Cannot log...

Re: Hauppauge USB Live-2 on Linux 3.13

I've hit what looks like the same problem (I wasn't attempting to record through the backend, just using mythffmpeg) - and was able to workaround by putting the Live2 on an older machine that only had USB2 ports (thus forcing use of the ehci stack). I received an email from the original author of th...

Re: Intel i3 NUC can't watch HD channels?

Am now running NUC on Mythbuntu. ... Audio not working in browser, but fine in Myth. This is most likely because the myth frontend is using ALSA, while the browser is using PulseAudio. Install pavucontrol: sudo apt-get install pavucontrol While watching a video in the browser look at playing applic...
