Re: Live TV Will Not Easily Switch From One Channel To Another In A Different Source

I think you need "Browse all channels" selected in mythfrontend setup>Video>Playback OSD. This works for me in current Master (from memory it worked in earlier versions as well). I also have "Always use browse mode in Live TV" selected, same screen. Mike I can't believe I missed that. That was it. ...

Re: Live TV Will Not Easily Switch From One Channel To Another In A Different Source

Exactly, The sequence works for me too. That's why I said I almost faced the same issue. As you described it does not change to another channel in another video source with Channel+/-. It did work with version 0.28. My first video source uses channels between 2 and 65, My second video source uses ch...

Re: Live TV Will Not Easily Switch From One Channel To Another In A Different Source

Sorry to revive a a 2 years-old thread but I'm (almost) facing the same issue. I've upgraded from 0.28 to 0.30 (Originally upgraded from 0.24 with MythBuntu) and I cannot switch from one video source to another when changing channels. With 0.28 I could start a channel and loop on every channel from ...

Re: CEC remote control fails after TV turned off then on again

I've just faced this problem too.
I'm interested in finding a solution. I have a IR receiver but it's not as responsive as the CEC commands. I would prefer to not use it.

I think the most likely reason is an invalid system name for your raspberry pi, in particular a system name with spaces in it.
You were totally right. That was it. I usually never use space in names but there was one.

Thank you very much

Re: Cannot play files from existing backend: Failed to open socket, error was malformed_ann_query

It is MythTV Light. I removed the `options compiled` on purpose. But here it is the full output: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ mythfrontend --version Please attach all output as a file in bug reports. MythTV Version : v30.0-60-gb9c1b41a6c MythTV Branch : fixes/30 Network Protocol : 91 Library API : 30.20181231...

[SOLVED] Cannot play files from existing backend: Failed to open socket, error was malformed_ann_query

I've searched for this issue and the only answers I found would because of different versions. Backend: Ubuntu 18.04 (Old Mythbuntu upgraded to 0.30 with APT) $ mythbackend --version Please attach all output as a file in bug reports. Re: Fresh install on RPi 4: QMYSQL3: Unable to prepare statement

According to what I read it's because of different protocol.
So it's another issue.
Once again, thank you for the help.

Re: Fresh install on RPi 4: QMYSQL3: Unable to prepare statement

That was it, so thank you a lot ;-) I removed MySQL Server from the server and installed MariaDB instead. I can now connect to the backend with the Pi. Something strange. The other frontend (and other backend) still connect to primary too with mysql-5.7 client. I still have issue though. I cannot pl...

Re: Fresh install on RPi 4: QMYSQL3: Unable to prepare statement

Actually no :-) Ubuntu 18.04 comes with whatever you install (MySQL 5.7 or MariaDB 10) but Raspbian Buster comes with MariaDB. When I install default-mysql-client on Buster, it install mariadb-client. I would be really surprised that it's incompatible with MySQL Server 5.7, but I'm gonna try with a ...

Re: Fresh install on RPi 4: QMYSQL3: Unable to prepare statement

Hi Jim, My MythTV backend is using MySQL Server 5.7, not MariaDB. (It's on Ubuntu 18.04). An old backend I have since Mythtv 0.21 (now upgraded to 0.30 obviously) The other frontend does connect to it without any issues. I did change the settings according to your recommandations with no luck I'm st...

[SOLVED] Fresh install on RPi 4: QMYSQL3: Unable to prepare statement

Hi there, I have some issues with a brand new fresh install on a RPi 4 trying to connect to an existing MythTV backend. When I can enter the MythTV Frontend UI, I cannot change any settings. (e.g. Trying to change the theme, keeps the default one all the time). But most of the time, I'm stuck at the...
