Re: Remote w/ FE

I did try OBC of 5 and 6 for up and down and that did not help. Does anyone know which frontend source module that is used to get the remote button pressed on the OS X?

Re: Remote w/ FE

Second problem resolved by exiting the FE and restarting. All I need is the up/down arrows to work and I'll be able to navigate the menus. The remotes OBC for up is 10 and down is 12 in case there is an alternate coding for up/down that I should try.

Remote w/ FE

Just installed the FE build from dropbox and having problems with my remote working the up/down arrows. When in the FE, they are ignored. When in any other app, I get a volume indicator that doesn't appear to do anything. What I'm looking for is the up/down to move up/down in the FE menu. The second...

Re: Building MythFrontend 30.x

Sorry, never mind. Loaded it into the applications directory and it ran just as. Thought maybe I was going to have to install QT5, etc. and have to set environment variables. Ok, now I can watch my shows from the bedroom on the mac mini which was not being used. Now all I have to do is figure out ho...

Re: Building MythFrontend 30.x

I'm new to MythTV and need help. Got a dedicated backend 30.0 running and all is good. But I have an OS X 10.13 that I would like to install the frontend and know even less about OS X than MythTV. I've downloaded the FE from the above dropbox link and that's as far as I've gotten. Unfortunately the ...

Max Episodes Problem

New to MythTV and I'm having problems with the max episodes. Have a weekday news show recording that I had set "keep at most" to 4 and "Delete oldest if this would exceed the max episo..." (Allow recordings to expire? is unchecked). It was working as expected. I changed the max to 5 and now the olde...

Re: Recent Backend Build?

Got the components for the BE which ended up costing $300, plus an extra $80 for a backup disk. Installing mythtv was certainly not as easy as buying car insurance, but I did finally get my BE up and running on Christmas! Ended up adding the FE as well for an easy way to test the BE. So with a quad ...

Re: Recent Backend Build?

Altered course a bit and picked up two i7's, where one will replace my 20+ year old workstation/server and the other will be the BE. I'll be taking the two 500gb's for the workstation and install a single 4tb drive into the BE (w/ future weekly backup drive). Got the WinTV-QuadHD ordered and just tr...

Re: Recent Backend Build?

Ok, just bought a used mini-tower (i3, 4gb) off of ebay. I'll add the WinTV-QuadHD and a 4tb HDD and I should be good to go, except for the huge learning curve getting MythTV running on it. I also see that MythTV FE will run on AppleTV 4 and mac mini, so I can muddle through before buying/building a...

Re: Recent Backend Build?

Planning on putting the backend out of the way in the basement utility room which is where the antenna distribution and ethernet switches are. For simplicity, I was thinking of the Shield TV for the frontend. But the Raspberry option is certainly interesting for either the front or back end and I'll...

Recent Backend Build?

I'm thinking of moving into the 21st century and replacing my 3 ReplayTVs with a MythTV configuration. As hardware is constantly evolving (too fast for my taste), I was inquiring if someone recently built a dedicated backend and was willing to list the components so I could use it as a shopping list...
