component and composite input with Hauppauge HDPVR

Hello all, I have a Hauppauge HDPVR (model 1212) working with component input and rear audio. Currently it is the only "input" defined for this box. I am now in a situation where I would like to switch between component and composite (front side) inputs. Clearly I do not intend to record both at the...

Re: Setting up a Linux MythTV server and web clients

I don't know about a Roku device, but my Android based Sony TV just magically found my MythTV-backend server and can play back all the material saved on the Myth system. Clearly there is some app for Android devices that understands the DLNA and UPnP (Universal Plug-and-Play). I didn't specifically ...

Re: Windows Version ?

Yes, it would be nice to have an already compiled version of the MythTV Frontend compatible with version 29, or perhaps even the new version 30. I do not have a build environment for WIndows and I am not interested in setting one up. It's hard enough to keep the Linux backends with Linux and Mac OS ...

Re: MythFillDatabase Isssue

My cynical view of the world is that you will get no useful response to this problem. I've had the identical error message to this ever since October of 2015. That was when I applied what was supposed to be a minor upgrade to V27. I had a thread on this forum and a few e-mails back and forth to peop...

Re: mythfilldatabase doesn't do authentication callback

Exactly the same situation as I have had for nearly a year. I knew if I was patient, somebody would stumble into the same mess. It really appears that the issue is inside some QT4 function that is supposed to handle the password handshake protocol. I instrumented a version of the mythfilldatabase su...

How do you build MythTV version 27 with QT5 on Debian Linux

How do you build MythTV version 27 with QT5 on Debian Linux? I have all that I can find of QT5 installed from the Debian distribution, but I still get this message <quote> Error! QtWebkit headers not found If you think configure made a mistake, make sure that you are using the latest version of Myth...

Okay, since no-one has been able to answer this question, how about a new one.

How do you get MythTv version 27 to build using QT5 on Debian Linux?

Re: SPDIF audio via hd pvr

wow 10 views and not one comment, come on people I can't be the only one with a hd-pvr who wants to record using spdif audio. I think that people with problems regularly look at the topics, because they're hoping to find solutions. Unfortunately it seems that people who have solutions rarely are lo...

Re: Help: MythTV is constantly broken

One of the major differences between Ubuntu and Debian is the frequency of upstream software upgrades. Trade-off is somewhat rock-solid stability versus leading edge features. I figure for something like MythTV: get it working and lock it down! As long as things are working, don't mess with it. Unfo...

Re: Help: MythTV is constantly broken

I would seriously consider the possibility of an intermittent hardware failure. I have had MythTV version .23 running on a Shuttle XPC using Debian Squeeze (6.0) for more than three years. The only outage I have had is when the AC mains goes off for more than 25 minutes, which exceeds the capacity o...

Re: mythfilldatabase doesn't do authentication callback

Agreed, the: DownloadManager: downloadError 204 Host requires authentication isn't normal. If you were looking with Wireshark, you'd see a 401 as the 1st response from SD (it doesn't print in the log.) I changed my password in mythtv-setup to a bogus value and got the 204 error. Maybe check yours f...

Re: mythfilldatabase doesn't do authentication callback

Hello pinacate, Your symptoms and log file are exactly the issue I have. Unfortunately no-one has yet responded with a useful fix, or even suggestions as how to go about getting more detailed information for the QT4 stuff in the mythdowloadmanager.cpp and moc_mythdownloadmanager.cpp files. Given tha...

Re: mythfilldatabase doesn't do authentication callback

Oh, and I've done exactly the below until I'm sick of it. It does not log anything in the qt4 procedures, which is where all of the web page accessing happens. By the time of the return back to non QT4 levels happen, data, if present is in a file. In this case it's simply error codes because the web...

Re: mythfilldatabase doesn't do authentication callback

I believe that blocking is not the issue. If I do "http://dd.schedulesdirect.org" from my browser I get properly redirected to "www.schedulesdirect.org" and then, if I choose, I can log in with the credentials as expected. I've instrumented "mythfilldatabase" with some selected "printf" statements a...
