Re: Backend on Pi 4

Dare I ask: how well does commercial flagging work on a Pi 4?

Re: Backend on Pi 4

I'm excited to learn if this is feasible. I have a backend running on a computer that is probably better suited as a NAS. If a Raspberry Pi 4 can handle it, that also expands the universe of people who could easily introduce MythTV to their homes.

Re: Losing encoders in a MythTV-HDHomeRun Prime setup

Thanks Mike! So far, I changed "After=mysql.service network.target" to "After=mysql.service network-online.target" in /lib/systemd/system/mythtv-backend.service, restarted, and saw that all three tuners were available. If that stops working and systemd jumps the gun on testing a tuner, I know exactl...

Re: Losing encoders in a MythTV-HDHomeRun Prime setup

I rebooted the whole thing. I just now restarted the service and BOOM all three cards are available! Thank you for your help. I'll search the threads regarding adding a short delay on startup to make sure that the network is available before the backend starts looking for tuners. Thank you for helpi...

Re: Losing encoders in a MythTV-HDHomeRun Prime setup

Thanks again! I checked the HDHomeRun directly and all three tuners were available. $ hdhomerun_config 13XXXXXF get /tuner0/status ch=none lock=none ss=0 snq=0 seq=0 bps=0 pps=0 $ hdhomerun_config 13XXXXXF get /tuner1/status ch=none lock=none ss=0 snq=0 seq=0 bps=0 pps=0 $ hdhomerun_config 13XXXXXF ...

Re: Losing encoders in a MythTV-HDHomeRun Prime setup

Here is what I did. I started mythtv-setup from the terminal with "mythtv-setup.real --logpath /tmp" instead of using the menu item. Then I added a tuner, saved, connected it to an input, saved, and repeated three times. Then I exited. It did not ask me to run mythfilldatabase or anything, so I rebo...

Re: Losing encoders in a MythTV-HDHomeRun Prime setup

I used the 4th method and it returned all three tuners: <CaptureCardList xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.0" serializerVersion="1.1"> <CaptureCards> <CaptureCard> <CardId>1</CardId> <ParentId>0</ParentId> <VideoDevice>13175E8F</VideoDevice> <AudioDevice/> <VBIDevice/>...

Re: Losing encoders in a MythTV-HDHomeRun Prime setup

Thank you for considering my issue. So by disappeared... I could have been more specific. "HDHomeRun Networked Tuner" is available in mythtv-setup under Capture Cards and I am able to add three of them (one for each tuner) which I can then connect with the appropriate video source. The problem is th...

Losing encoders in a MythTV-HDHomeRun Prime setup (Solved)

I am at my wits end with this weird problem. A while back, when I updated to MythTV .30, my first encoder associated with my HDHomeRun Prime disappeared. Otherwise, the setup was stable, so I put off doing anything about it since it was not likely to cause many conflicts. Well, mysteriously, the sec...
