Re: Duplicate channels in sqlite db, best way to fix?

Well, the duplicates are from SD itself. I just set up a new database as a test (different directory and config, so it's "clean") and the duplicates are there. In fact besides the duplicate channel numbers, it also has some pre-repack channels with the old channel numbers. So I guess it doesn't caus...

Re: Duplicate channels in sqlite db, best way to fix?

When I say duplicate, I don't just mean "same network," I mean actual duplicates in sqlite SchedulesDirect.DB with the same channum, atscMajor, atscMinor, uhfVhf, but different station (id.) I know how to deselect them but I don't know how it happened and want to know how to clean up the sd database.

Duplicate channels in sqlite db, best way to fix?

I use tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite. I notice there are about four duplicate channels. mythfilldatabase.log shows they are skipped as 'Unknown xmltv channel identifier.' Any idea how this could happen? Is the data coming duplicated from SchedulesDirect, or could it be "old channel" info that didn't get c...

Re: Creating manual recording with API, dupmethod and searchtype wrong

Thanks. Got it working. Have a python script fired when a recording starts. It looks back a few hours in the schedule on chanid and checks if any sports was on. If there was, it automatically schedules an "overtime" recording for an hour after the show. I know I can modify individual rules to record...

Creating manual recording with API, dupmethod and searchtype wrong

I'm creating manual recording rules with Dvr/AddRecordSchedule. It works, but dupmethod and searchtype are not getting set to values I specified. Should they be integers, or strings? I've tried both, and it doesn't work either way. Trying to set dupmethod 1 searchtype 5 to mimic a manual rule set up...

Disabling DVD subtitles by default?

Whenever I play a DVD (internal player,) subtitles default to "on." I can turn them off, but I'd rather "off" be the default state.

I can't find a setting for this. Is there one?

Was going to post a link to a post where I had a similar problem last year, but I see you fixed it with a fresh install. Still, if you're interested...

I use Timeshift for backup so I just kept restoring and trying again until I got it right.

Re: Is it safe to add new columns to a table? (created and modified timestamps in program)

bill6502, OK, so altering mythconverg tables is not a good idea. Also, the lastModified data you showed only shows when the entire schedule for that stationID was updated, not individual programs. But I'm onto something. I made a copy of the sqlite database file, then let mythfilldatabase run. Then,...

Is it safe to add new columns to a table? (created and modified timestamps in program)

I would like to alter my program table, adding two new columns for create and modified timestamp, auto-populated. As discussed in these two links: https://www.oreilly.com/library/view/mysql-cookbook/0596001452/ch05s34.html https://www.tutorialspoint.com/can-mysql-automatically-store-timestamp-in-a-r...

MythTV getting slower on startup (scheduler?)

I have noticed lately, when starting, it takes longer and longer for MythTV to show any upcoming recordings. That is, if I leave it on the MythWelcome screen, or go into frontend and view upcoming recordings, it shows no upcoming recordings for about two or three minutes. I think this is the schedul...

Re: Hack to handle missed recording rule?

Are you using XMLTV or EPG?

If XMLTV, how about modifying the script to pre-process listings before MythTV loads them, instead of directly modifying table "program" after it's been updated?

Can MythTV handle a channel remapped to a different physical frequency?

I am asking this relative to a device named the "Avant X." I have one, and have been in a conversation here: https://www.digitalhome.ca/threads/avant-x-new-combining-device-for-up-to-four-antennas-from-different-directions.292636/ It has four antenna inputs (plus one for cable) and digitally combine...

Observation: different channels, different length of schedules

If you use SchedulesDirect for listings, and frequently browse program data out to the last days available looking for shows to record, here is an observation. Different channels provide different lengths of schedule data. If right after mythfilldatabase has run, you browse the last day available in...

Live TV "Disabling Audio" but recordings fine

When I start Live TV from the program guide, a message appears:

Disabling Audio
Audio Player
Aborting Reconfigure

but audio works fine playing recordings or videos. Any ideas?
